I looked into this when I had my 335i... and the answer I kept getting was 'it cant be done', lots of companies were quoting figures but none had actually 'done' it.
Get yourself over to www.e90post.com the american guys chip their's with some sort of 'plug n play' device... its about $400 but without any guarentees its a bit of a risk on an expensive car I think...
Apparently BMW have made the ECU so encripted thats its almost impossible to chip while keeping reliability.
If I remember correctly DMS were running a development 335i but ended up giving up.
Saying that though, you could get it chipped by Birds Hartge, they are official to BMW so it wont affect your warentee either...
but its expensive... 330hp for over £1500 I think... they can go up to 360hp but that requires exhaust and engine work that means you wont see much change out of £4000, then because you've added 54hp you should upgrade the brakes... fit Hartge anti-roll bars... and add an LSD (which will be essential with that amount of power)... and the bill gets bigger and bigger...
Its very expensive, which is why I never had it done.
Personally if I was to go back and spend money on mine I would fit an LSD and anti-roll bars and give that fantastic engine the components it deserves.

I had an Xede unit in my touring, it makes the standard car seem like a 320i.
Worth every penny and a must for any 335i owner. Using an AP22 meter from Race Technology we go consistent 0-60mph times of 4.5 seconds, and in gear acceleration was just something else. I didn't put it on a rolling road, but without the Xede the AP22 was estimating 286bhp at the wheels of the car and with the Xede it went up to 338bhp, so I would guess that would be around 370bhp real world figures.
There is now a version 2 out that gives around 20bhp more as well.
Cost is $1350 plus about $120 shipping, it takes about an hour to install cause getting the ecu out is a bit of a pain.
Have a look on www.e90post.com though as I am sure that there is amore available now as this was a good 9 months ago.

There was also talk of BMW offering a full remap too, think it would be far more conservative and a lot more money, but would give a full warranty and would be easier to insure as it would go on the insurers lists.
This was meant to be part of the 'Performance Range' which includes race wheels, race steering wheels, carbon bits and bucket seats for the new 1 and 3 series cars, this is being launched in two weeks time.

My 335i had an unfortunate ending about 3 weeks after LM... I was passenger while letting my mate have a go and he binned it into a lamp post! Car was written off, was actually my fault though because I was egging him to put his foot down...
lesson learnt!
Anyway I found it up for sale on autotrader fully repaired at the moment with a garage in sheffield. With no mention of the accident...
For those that dont know, its the silver 335i manual saloon, up for £24,995. (dont buy it!)

Impact area was front passenger side, speed about 55mph I'd guess. Airbags deployed, front wheel was stuffed up and backwards into the arch, all the suspension was ripped to peices, bumper, lights, wings, bonnet, passenger door... everything was beyond repair. The entire front end...
The biggest problem that caused it to be 'beyond economic repair' was that when the wheel was pushed back into the arch the suspension moved with it and in doing so punched itself through the engine block!
(if you look really closely at the engine pic on autotrader you'll see some parts are spottlessly clean... shows its had a new engine.
It was some impact, and im glad it was written off as I wouldn't want it after that...
On the other hand its a testiment to BMW, 50-60 odd mph into solid object and both of us got out with a scratch...

Superchips have just launched a biggy back system and with it been superchips it should be pretty reliable. That’s what I’m hoping anyway. The power gain is not as much as some but neither is the price. I am going to fit a K & N and go for some cat replacement pipes which should get me 360hp which will do for now. Thanks for your advice everyone.

Your car is going to be crying out for an LSD with 360hp! chances are you'll also find it very hard to put the power down exiting a corner without the inside rear spinning up... Personally I think its a crime that BMW only fit LSDs to M cars. (I think the last non-Mcar with an LSD was the first production year of the E36 328ci Sport)
Imagine trying to do the hurdles with your shoelaces tied!

more for my wife and family really (although she still would rather have a Merc)a job change means my own car spends most of it's time doing station runs along the M27 and I cannot justify the cost of 335i for that - so it's being replaced with a hot hatch of some kind
520d Touring is currently the family car of choice for safe, sensible outings....0-60 in 5.5 is hardly a pre-requisite!
