Hi
Just looking for some advide, i have an E46 320D and recently i have noticed there seems to be a fair amount of left to right movement of the gear leaver when the car is in gear, for example when the car is in gear and you move the lever it feels like the car is actually in neutral.
I have spoken to a trader friend and he said its normal on high mileage cars and its the nylon gear selector which needs to be replaced, apparently its 5 minute job.
I have spoken to GSF and they dont know what i am talking about, i have tried to find the part on the GSF website but cant seem to find it, does anybody know the actual name of the part, where to get it and how to change it?

Could be a rubber bush somewhere in the linkage. Do a search on www.realoem.com and see what appears from the photos.
