My dad has got a 2003 530i which I've been driving this week and am thinking of buying from him.

It has the standard screen on it with iDrive which does very little except radio, OBC and Climate. Can it be upgraded to incorporate sat-nav and a phone? What does this cost?

Thanks.

Yeah you can, but you would need to buy the parts from ebay.de cause new there are thousands.

You will then need to get the car programmed by BMW, you need to budget about £2-500 depnding on your dealer for this.

if you buy the business nav system you can use the same i-drive controller and screen and it is a straight swap for the radio unit you have, if you go professional you will need a new controller, screen and trim because the new unit replaces that pocket under the radio you have now.

You can pick up the business unit for around £200 from german ebay.

Thanks for that. So probably best to stick with the business nav system? Does this include a phone system?
