You've bought one or are you asking if anybody on here's bought one ?

Now I've got you ! Not a car I've ever been particularly keen on but I could well believe what you say. IMHO it suffers in the same way as my 1er in that it (incorrectly) seems like a cheap substitute for a 'real' Beemer such as a 3er or an X5.

I had one for 2 years and 40K miles. I have to say I thought its was a great car, all be it lacking a little in the power department. I’d bet the current car drives well though given the increase in power, mine was the 150BHP 2.0d!

I’d have another in the blink of an eye great cars they are. I’m keeping a keen eye on the used prices of the 3.0D sports for when I’m looking to change.

I loved my 3.0 petrol and would get the 2.0d chipped (as per my E46 2.0d) to give it a great performance and econmy boost.

The 3.0 sD's the one to look out for though, with a DMS map of course. Had a good hoon last summer with a new on, in my chipped 530d. The 5 was very slightly quicker, so I've no doubt the chipped TT X3 would be superb. Would definitely need 2.0d badges though biggrin

An X3 is more like driving a car, an X5 is more like driving a tank. The M-Sport is the only X3 I'd buy.

Welcome back!

I had one for 2 years/40k miles and loved it. Lacked a bit of grunt, particularly for overtaking etc, but I had an 08 model as a courtesy car recently and it was noticeably pokier.

My mum has just bought a 3.0D Auto which is an awesome car - as quick as you'd ever need a sensible car to me and something I'd certainly look at in the future.
