Huge depreciation over first 12-15K miles, but beautiful to drive and own. No major problems but M6 630i and 645i are the pick of the bunch. Watch out for colour, toys and wheel alignment. Not great on CO2 output but who's worried?

There was a 645i down my street the other day.

Yes, it's ugly and has a bit of a smacked arse. (Just what was the designer smoking when he did the boot lid?)

Huge road presence, though, and I thought the interior looked nice.

I saw a re-run of 5th gear a few weeks back on Norwegian TV, they guy opened the boot and showed you the what the car would look like if the lines continued to flow, looked stunning from side on.

Maybe you could look on youtube for the same review.

My neigbour used to have an M6, stunning, sounds awesome, used to wake me up each morning as he pulled out the street, not a bad alarm clock smile

I saw a 635d marked up at £60K with options. How nuts would you be?

You can buy a decent 05 M6 for under 42K today with very low mileage.

Marmite. Half of the population love them (me included) and half of the population hate them. Also, there seems to be an equally polarized divide amongst owners regarding the ownership experience... some report no problems and some report a relentless monotony of gremlins and even go so far as to suggest that the car was brought to market before BMW had managed to made it work properly.

Or maybe a more accurate view based on this being asked before is, most owners have had no issues and most non owners report that there are issues!hehe

I've had one for a couple of weeks now, it's a 650i Sport Convertible with an auto box. Compared to my 330 it feels very big, but it is very easy to drive. If you intend on having anyone over 12 years of age sat in the back on a regular basis, it might not be the car for you. Considering the length of this car, the rear leg room is terrible. A few of my friends were shocked by this when I took them out for a ride, a lot of people don't realise this car is a 2+2.

One niggle I have with the car is that there's nowhere to store anything and the glove compartment can only take so much. I bought mine used and whoever had it before me didn't spec a cup holder frown

Someone has to buy these cars, otherwise there would no second hand bargains to be had wink Don't forget this is one of BMW's most expensive cars. The 650 cab is priced at over £63k with no options and the M6 cab is about £25k more than that!

I picked mine up 2 moths old with 2K on the clock for 47.5K, It has been the best most economical car for the performance I have ever owned (and I've had some), I am PXING it against a new X635D sport for september and my PX price is 44.5K, and no mileage penalty over the next 4 months til I collect, you can work those figures out , I lost vertually nothing in 9 months of use of a great car.smokin

When I had my 997 C2S I borrowed a friend's 645. I was not very impressed with the ride and traction control constantly flickering in wet. Overall difference between the two was very noticeable. Probably a RFT issue. Get some decent rubber and it would probably be a much much better car.

Although I would probably never be able to afford one I think they look stunning.I remember watching Top Gear where the 6 series was being matched up to a 911 and a v8 vantage. And I can honestly say I much prefered the 6 series.Expensive but it looked to be more equiped than the other two and being a bmw build quality is rarely an issue.

I sold my 2007 RS4 4.2 (last batch made) to buy this 635D sport, once you adjust your driving style to RWD you will be supprised at how quick the car can be.
