Cable to connect i-pod to E39 cd changer socket?
Discussion
Im sure I once read about a cheap cable that enabled you to disconect the CD changer and connect your i-pod to the control cable in the boot to enable some of the functions to be controlled from the dash / steering wheel.(and of course connect the i-pod to the stereo)
Anyone know where to get one of these and have any experience using one?
Thanks

You won't get a 'cheap cable' to do what you're asking but these are one of the main suppliers of what you are after.Anyone know where to get one of these and have any experience using one?
Thanks

Not sure if you have the same unit on an E39 but I bought a cable for £24-odd from BMW - it's an aux-in only but at that price I can't fault it.

I bought a DICE iPod integration kit from an eBay seller - £90 delivered, just unplug the CD changer and plug in the new cable, run it to the front of the car (don't dismantle everything as I did, check the online videos first and tuck the cable under the sill trim panels). I think it's better than the Dension, and it's at least a tenner cheaper (new). If you buy elsewhere, make sure you get the up to date Silverline model which was introduced late in 2007 - it says Silverline on the packet, and improved the functionality for selecting by artist, playlist or track.
