is an x3 any wider in the back than a touring e91?

My touring is great, the only thing that stops itbeing perfext is the fact that withtwo child seats in the back there is no room for anyone else.

I know we could get a 5 but they are a lot bigger in every way and we don't need the extra room much. I wondered if an x3 was slightly bigger..

We went from an E46 Touring to an X3 (not because of space issues - I'd written off the E46 ) and the extra space is great. We can fit 2 full height boosters across the back with a third (obviously larger) child in the middle with the three point belt. The extra space in the boot also helps when packing all the family 'stuff' in for long runs and holidays.

ETA: whilst the X3 is much higher than a 3 the actual footprint is not that much bigger.

The only problem is that in the back of an X3 you'll get thrown around like a pea in a drum.
