Taking out sunroof on 8 series

I need to take out the sunroof so it can be painted. Can anyone please help and let me know if the head lining has to be removed or just the lining on the sunroof? Thanks.

All you need to do is to tilt the sunroof, undo the two screws either side and then press the retainers in on both sides and remove the lid - Job done, no need to remove any headlining.

On a side note, it has been known several times that on inspection of the underside of the sunroof its corroded to hell and a new sunroof was needed.

Thanks Wayne, I will have a go to try and save money. I do have it booked in in the morning for a trim company to remove at £35 per hour. Is it as easy to fit back?
