Hi guys & girls,

Well having had a good long test drive yesterday I've now decided I am definitely in search of a good affordable Z4 Coupe. I've seen quite a few advertised all of various trim /model. What are the differences between the SE & Si versions? Are there any must have options?

If anyone hears or sees a good car could they email me to let me know.

Thanks

Im new to Z4's but i think theres quite a difference in engine?

Other than that i think its just seats and m sport suspension?

BMW.co.uk should be able to help, although maybe not as its no longer in production.

Sorry ive not been much of a help.

No, the engine is the same - we have an 07 Si and from memory, the seats are different, there is a 'sport' button next to the gearstick that tightens up the steering response and throttle response, bigger alloys as standard. Oh, and anthacite roof lining and M Sport suspension are standard on the Si, but options on the SE

Also, surely the z4 coupe is still in production or do you know something we dont?

There are plenty around and the price varies wildly - use www.bmw.co.uk and seach nationally.

I dont think there are any 'must haves'. I guess find one with the extras you want.

Si is not a trim level it purely relates to the engine IIRC.

So you can have a 3.0Si SE and a 3.0i SE. The Si's are the higher powered, newer engines.

Also, don't think you can get a 3.0i Coupe - only Si (AFAIK).

All Z4 Coupes apart from the M are 3.0Si. There is no non-Si model. The Si designator relates to the engine which is the newer N52 block. There aren't any Coupes with the older M54 (called 3.0i).

The trim levels available were SE and Sport. Off the top of my head the differences were that the Sport came with 18" MV2 wheels as standard with an option to upgrade to 108s. It also has "M Sport" seats as opposed to "Sport" seats (although whether or not there's a difference I'm not sure), a 3 spoke multi function sport steering wheel, anthracite headlining and "M Sports" suspension.

Yep - Si relates to engines. The only "non-M" Coupe in the UK is / was the 3.0Si. Brilliant engine.

SE relates to spec. Either SE or Sport. Both have a "Sport" button to sharpen throttle response and firm up the steering. The SE had slightly softer suspension and didn't have the sport seats as standard.

I went for SE over Sport because of the slightly softer ride - IMO better suited to London roads. The SE was still pretty damn firm, mind you. I spec'd mine with the sports seats.

I went with a SE and the only thing I miss over the Sport is the seats, that said the standard ones are really very good.
