So, what does the sport button on my Z4M actually do

As far as i can tell, it sharpens up the throttle response... and... thats about it?

That is it, on the Z4M and E46 M3 it sharpens the throttle, on the E39 M5 it sharpens the throttle and weights up the steering.

On the regular Z4 it sharpens the steering - but the M has different steering system so probably does away with that.

On my SMG it makes the changes faster - in fact I wish it could always be like that.

The sport button in the non-M version makes it a bit more hardcore with heavier steering and improved throttle response. Other than that i dont think it does anything at all.

I believe in the M it simply imcreases throttle input. i.e. before 25% throttle = 25% input - and after 25% throttle = 40% input.

%'s are completely made up mind.

I think it adds about ten grand to the price IIRC.

it does nothing imo apart from make the car jerkier! basically it moves the throttle parimeters, but it does alter the steering weight, ill be honest i drive my car alot smoother on road and track with this feature off.
it makes throttle responses way to "artificial" if you no what i mean.

if their was one thing and i mean thing this button could have done to be worth while it would definatly be once pressed it allows like a sport DTC mode where the traction controls on but it allows much more level of slip before it cuts in!!! why ohh why didnt they do this? bmw really missed a trick their imo. or maybe they thought short wheelbase, powerful car, people will kill themselfs if we allow them to sort things themselves! lol

the t/c is way to oversensitive but i like the safetynet it offers me, especially on the track!
