I should declare a conflict of interest having just read this lot. Jo is actually a mate of Mrs. Vince and although she may be media savvy in a way some might not be too keen on, some of the comments on here regarding her family are poor form. You all know your own minds and opinions, but perhaps asking yourselves "would i be comfortable making this comment in real life?" might be worth doing.

Just my 2p worth.

She's a female rider who had been able to capitalise on the interest this particular combination brings. Lot of people still see it as a novelty when a photogenic female can actually ride a motorbike and this is somthing she's been able to work with, using social media. She's a decent sort in person and, like all of us, cares deeply about her family. That's why I'd personally leave that stuff offline. Call me old fashioned, but it just seems a little over the line of decency.

Personally, I like her
Not sure why she gets so much negativity on here
The only person I could see with an Axe to grind is BVG's now ex wife, but I suspect she's not a PH'er

You'd have to ask her, but i know she has her fair share of distance, miles and track time. I've only spoken to her briefly in person a couple of times but she seems pretty decent. Fairly short, but then i'm used to them tall wink

It's all good smile

Ultimately we're all here to ride bikes, break bikes, piss about fixing bikes, rinse and repeat, right?

Just my 2p worth.
My 2p worth, I would be absolutely happy to tell her to her face what she is doing is damaging to her child in both the short and long term and would attempt to show her how science and reasoning work rather than just shouting vaccines, chemicals and mercury as if it's some sort of panacea.
She is entitled to her own views but she isn't entitled to make the life of someone else worse by being an idiot.

Good for you. You're bound to get a more reasoned and open dialogue going when discussing something this serious by opening with insults.

I've always wondered about this - but is it an insult if it's true? Fair enough idiot is a bit more subjective, but if you call a fat person 'fat', is that an insult?!

Only if the recipient considers the term "fat" to be derogatory, which is highly likely. If you told an overweight person "Your body weight is sub-optimal for your height and fitness level", it might still be received as an insult just by virtue of the sensitivity of the subject, even though you havent used terms that are inherently derogatory . I find it best to just avoid fatties.

biggrin

So essentially, what you're saying is that anything can be an insult if the recipient is easily offended...

The fact that you replied at all ruled that one out!

Whether people would be willing to confront her in public makes no odds to whether or not she is being a socially irresponsible ignoramus.

As for your defence of her private opinions, perhaps if she kept them private this wouldn't be an issue?
