And that's the kind of sound advice we should be giving to a 16 year old lad with a drunken dream.
ok. lets not play silly buggers.. in reality a 16 year old kid with no form of income other than a part time job will not get a 20k loan. 20k was merely a figure i plucked out of the air. i have no idea how much a race season costs. what i was saying was people need to learn from their own mistakes and subsequently live with the decisions.,,MJDM said:
There's nothing wrong with debt if it's manageable. If you need to pay a little more in the long run in order to have something now, instead of in a few years time, I don't see the issue. I've been in various stages of debt since I was 18, all due to cars and bikes, and I have no regrets.
But you can prioritise debt."Alright Love, I'm a famous racing driver. Wanna come back to my mums place?"

I think if he was a little older you'd all have told him to fk off pages ago.
As I said earlier he has changed and become a little attention we because certain members on here pander to his stupid fantasist questions - Like they're protecting him and given him virtual shelter under their wings with a little pat on the head. "There. Done my bit. Now I can tell all my mates how nice I am"
I've been on PH a long time and have seen it many times before.
Nip it in the bud before it gets out of control.
I'm sure if he does come back he"ll have learnt his lesson. (If CW7 hasn't poisoned him by then)
there just seems to be massive amounts of negativity on PH...As I said earlier he has changed and become a little attention we because certain members on here pander to his stupid fantasist questions - Like they're protecting him and given him virtual shelter under their wings with a little pat on the head. Nail Head. PeteO.And this is why the entire thread is a pipe dream.
my point was that the figure is irrelevant...

Do you need a hug?FFS give him a break
There's some real miserable s on here.
He's come on here with an ambition and asked how would be best to proceed with it. I'm sure he is aware of his own experience levels and knows he is going to need finding regardless. But some of you have just decide to join in with nothing more than an insult. I'm not naming names but just grow up and let the boy dream, I wish him all the best and if he gets his break and had got the skills I hope he does it with a big "fk you".
I applaud those who have offered advice and their own experiences and to the rest of you, if you haven't got anything helpful to say don't fking bother.
Liam, I wish you all the best mate and of I can offer any assistance or advice feel free to PM me or chat on XBL.

You don't have to get into debt. Work hard. Save harder. No debt.
I'm aware it isn't free
You do if you want to start at a young age and be competitive unless you have some form of backing or inheritance. The owt for nowt comment was aimed at Liam saying he woul be supplied a bike. I can only think this would happen if he paid for a team ride.I'm aware it isn't free
For further clarity this is what Liam said on Page 1

You know what I mean, track day or racing. It's track time that i would love to do.
And that license st sucks dick. I won't be able to get on track till I'm at least 22?!
There are lots of people on here who have no experience of the cost of entering motorsport, yet continue to comment out of their arses. Why?

There's a thread in GG from a 12yo that's saying hi. He's getting welcomed by many, including me, and I hope he grows and matures in this community, as many people have. This medium certainly wasn't around when I (we) were that age and I envy the young kids now with the wealth of knowledge and community that is instantly available. At that age the anomnimity is a blessing and allows the person to edge themselves in and feel more comfortable about asking advice and guidance. (And I'm sure that would translate into real life.) Something I'm happy to offer. (Although I'm not offended if it's not taken.)
As a 13yo I'd walk up the road and chat to the banger racing guys. Help fix their cars and ask questions. I got a little ribbing and piss taking (I did look like Joe 90 though.) but kept at it. That experience has grown and I'm now a competent mechanic, after doing a YTS training course. I worked at many garages and heavy plant machinery.
If someone came along and stopped those guys taking the piss I'd not have got my chance to go with them to the track (And drive the cars) and I'm sure they wouldn't have respected me as a result.
You can't protect kids from life.
Some people on PH are just out for attention. Pure and simple.
Wether it's for physiological reasons or they just like it they soon get sniffed out.
Let's encourage the younger members to explore their own boundaries but lets not waste it on people who are never going to act on it.
Lol! Some of the responses on here are funny. Well I guess if he can’t take any shiit now, he won’t be able to in the future, so maybe it’s teaching him some lessons before he really starts to come up against some problems.
I think some of the things were uncalled for. If anything was serious, the kid is 16 and if he wants to be a professional rider, then who are we or anyone else to say differently? We don’t know him, it just makes YOU look like the , maybe because people are pissed off that their lives never amounted to anything? *shrug*
What’s more sad? A 16 yr old on the internet talking with randomers or 20, 30, 40+ somethings doing the same thing? I’d hazard a guess at the latter IMO.
Anyway, each to their own.

At what point has he said this?
Or are you quoting someone else who was beetching
Well firstly, I haven't read every detail of this thread and secondly, whether he said it or not is irrelevant. He could have said he wants to be a professional footballer or the best IT security manager in the world. It wasn't the point of my post. Or are you quoting someone else who was beetching
