Thanks, dreadful website but seems a good deal when you can get two pairs of RST gloves for < £40 shipped!

Laser 7036 JIS screwdriver 4 piece set <£20 on eBay.

When I was looking for JIS screwdrivers a couple of years ago, all I could find were Vessel sets at £50+.

Cool, I didn't know Laser did these. If you don't need four you can get single Hozan or Vessel ones for less, but that seems very good value for a set.

Looks like the Vessel sets are a lot cheaper than they used to be. Increased demand?

They are good quality for the money, bought a set not long before Christmas.

Tried to order a large amount of stuff in December as the prices were indeed very low. My payment (bog standard credit card) wouldn't go through. 2 (!) E-Mails to their customer service were ignored.

In this case, the quality & price do seem to match.

I returned one pair of gloves a couple of weeks ago as they were mouldy and mis-matched sizes, but they responded in <1h to a return request, DPD label sent etc and a refund issued within 24h of them receiving them.

Good that you had a different experience. I would've liked to have been a customer, but after 2 mails without a response I lost my appetite.

I suspect it was that they were overloaded with the stock clearance - I waited until Jan to do my return deliberately.

Shame for you though, as the prices were bargainous enough to put up with a lot of crap.

I bought a Ferodo rear disc for a KTM off them a couple of weeks ago. They sent out a JT disc because the Ferodo was out of stock. Not a big problem, except it didn't fit. I tried to send it back, but they where adamant it would fit and demanded I sent photos before they would refund. I directed them to the Ferodo website which showed they where different size discs to the one they sent. They then asked for vin no. and reg No. and still wanted photos. They seemed to be deliberately awkward and would always send emails just before they closed. I phoned them direct in the end and it got sorted straight away, so not sure what the problem was.

Pretty standard for large eBay sellers unfortunately.
Their margins are pretty small, so sometimes the cost of a return wipes that out.
If they can delay you long enough that you just give up then they still turn a profit.

Do these have a motorcycle mode that's safe for permanent trickle charging/maintaining smaller 12v batteries? There are no details on the Aldi site and there have been a number of versions of these over the years so it's hard to tell from old reviews...

They are fine although the really small 12v batteries fitted to kickstart bikes, like two stroke RDs etc, really need less current for maintenance. Fine for charging them up though.

It's the same with any of them to be honest, optimate, Ctek etc. If you leave them connected to a tiny 12v 5Ah or smaller battery, they do burn through the electrolyte on non-sealed batteries after some time, even with pulse maintenance charging.
