Virgin Media ( & I suspect another TV service provider) have announced that they have won a Court order preventing First Row Sports from providing live streaming via their web site.

No wonder I couldn't watch BSB qualy & race 1 last weekend rolleyes

This has probably already been covered but what is the story with this and existing sky customers?

I have basic HD+ package with the extra entertainment pack for £5 a month extra.

If I wanted to add this for Moto GP is it going to add something like £20 a month which I wont pay, or as I am moving into a new flat I could get BT broadband and get it for free??
Rick you need to talk to me rather than these Virgin people. wink

I have Sky HD and I have BT Infinity (read broadband) - The BT Sport channels subscriptions are handled directly by BT themselves not sky. You simply give BT your sky viewing card number and done.
So if you don't have BT Broadband you pay them money directly (starts from £12 a month it says) or if you do its free as long as you have an active BT broadband contact.
For my situation I increased my infinity speed for free (required 18month contract -renewal) and then signed up to BT sport the day after (would normally lock you in for another 12months to your broadband contact) so I'm locked in for another 18months irrespective.

This is the BT website to find out about this and order.

I can confirm I got all the channels working from 1st Aug fine on my Sky HD box.

Still no help for me, im on M tv pack.

I've either got to lob loads more money or go to some dodgy website....

....details of which would be welcomed in my in box.....
Updated to XL package earlier in the year to get Motors TV to watch Daytona 200, Bol d'Or and Le Mans etc and must have watched a grand total of 6 hours or so of TV in 6 months for my extra £12 / £15 / whatever per month. Bargain! rolleyes

It's been on my to do list to go back to M package for awhile but this will probably keep me on the XL. Apathy, you just can't beat it.

I am going to wait until next month before I contact Sky.

I refuse point blank to move to BT Broadband as I need internet for work, and the risk of moving to BT is too high - it is just too unreliable. Same goes for Sky - even though I have Sky Sports and can get their broadband for free. There is no Virgin where I live.

I am going to have to add the cost to my monthly Sky bill if I want if for football and motogp. I have about 5 weeks until Spurs are first on BT anyway - so hopefully this new Virgin deal will gain some extra leverage when I call Sky to see what they can do.

How would a shady character access this for not a lot of money via the interweb?
Quite easily, have a look at things called skybox f3/f5 on ebay, boxes are about £50, a c-line subscription is about £50/yr, that's all I'm prepared to say on the matter.

Hi, everyone (Newbie Alert)!eek

For those who may be interested, the German sports channel "Sport 1" will be showing the 2014 MotoGP season Free-To-Air (FTA), according to this article ....

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2011/sport1+extends+...

... which means if you've got a satellite dish pointed at Astra 1M (19.2 Degrees E) you'll be able to see it FREE woohoo(albeit with German commentary) - Look at sites such as Screwfix, Homebase and B&Q for cheap dish packs (dish and receiver) or even Flea-Bay, as it is unlikely an old Sky Digital Receiver will pick the required channels up, unfortunately.

An example of a cheap-ish system = http://www.screwfix.com/p/labgear-portable-satelli...

I got a 60 cm dish and receiver pack from Screwfix about a year ago for £50 and I've also recently (September 2013) seen similar kits in B&Q [Lincoln] going for about this much too (and they're HD capable). I have it tuned to RTL Germany for F1 (with Radio 5 commentary) and also Sport 1 (CH 443) ready for MotoGP - 2014 - Sorted thumbup!

For more Satellite channel data, go to Lyngsat = http://www.lyngsat.com/Astra-1KR-1L-1M-2C.html

Cheers

Heard some news about ITV getting rights to show the hoghlights from races. Apparently they will be shown 8PM on Mondays.

I have BT Sport so no such bother for me smile

Just been looking for the schedule via TV guide. It looks like cover starts on BTSport 2 on Thursday. The V+ box is going to get some hammer this year smile

Watching the classics doesn't really do it for me so I've been waiting for this Thursday. Bring it on.

Don't forget the season preview 8pm tomorrow evening.
They were at the last test (I think) so there should be some decent interviews and coverage from the tests.
