Datatool S4 fault won't disarm
Discussion
My 2007 zx6r is fitted with a Datatool s4 and today the remotes will not disarm the system.
The bike is not in regular use and recently the alarm fob range has been reduced. The last two times I have had to turn on the ignition before the remote will disarm. I have also noticed recently the indicators do not flash when the system auto arms, which I am sure it used to.
Today I took the bike out of the garage disarming the system after turning on the ignition. I started the bike and moved it round to a location suitable to wash the bike and ever since then the alarm fob will not do anything. I have two fobs, both do not function including fitting a replacement battery.
I can start the bike using the pin override but this is not a practical option and neither is ripping the system out. The system confirms two remotes are programmed.
So can it be fixed?

I'm sure Datatools have an option to delete remotes, so it may be worth trying that and then re-teaching it the existing remotes.
Just a thought but I and others have had trouble with DT alarms when they apparently get swamped by mobile phone mast signals... push the bike 50 yards up the road and the remote works fine.

In the good old days you could fine-tune radio remotes to optimise their range, modern ones don't have the facility. Might be worth a close inspection of the PCB in the remote to make sure you haven't got some crud de-tuning the transmitter - moisture ingress could cause fluffy corrosion to accumulate.
