Bell Rogue - Legal in the UK?
Discussion
Hi guys, was looking at getting a cool helmet to go with my Bobber and saw this. I think is looks Bad Ass for an open face and gives you some extra protection against the elements and bugs (not much for your chin though I know!)
It is a US helmet and DOT approved. Can you use it in the UK?

just seen this on that link....."Use the delicates or cold cycle and place inside a washing net"
so what they are saying is, why not chuck you couple hundred pound helmet into a washing machine where it will be smashed about and get broken.....
other than that, i think it looks quite good

Not road legal in the UK, but then neither are the Bell Custom 500, or Biltwell's and plenty of guys with Bobber's are using those.... likewise, the Davida Speedster. It is a US helmet and DOT approved. Can you use it in the UK?

Does wearing a dark visor, using a 'race use only' exhaust, small number plate, speeding etc.?
No idea, that's why I'm asking. Luckily have never had to claim ever and always declare mods at renewal. I take it they would still pay out then even though technically they could be dicks and say insurance was voided, not our problem.Spanna said:
I have the Custom 500, not technically legal, but I haven't had a problem.
Did you import it from the USA yourself or buy from somewhere in the UK...?I've been trying to find somewhere that stocks them to try one, rather than taking a chance on Bell sizing which does seem different to most others.

I believe they were called Motorcycle Mama, located in Wales. No idea if their website is still going but I'm sure they also sell on eBay under the same name.
That helmet is also on the Bell EU site:
http://www.bellhelmets.com/en_eu/powersports/helme...
So it is likely to be legal in the EU.

The Bell Motorcycle Helmets Europe facebook page mentions the helmet was not CE certified when asked the questions a couple of weeks ago, although they did add a "but who knows what near future brings" comment.http://www.bellhelmets.com/en_eu/powersports/helme...

Is a Bobber a nickname for Paint Baller ??? as thats what these look good for, or if you want to look like a 14 year old BMX'er !!!
I have to agree, it wouldn't be my choice of helmet to wear on a 'vintage' style Bobber.
As I said earlier, Bell Custom 500 or a Davida Speedster would be more 'in the style of' a Bobber.......IMHO of course.
Each to their own though.
