Conditions may not be great, but not acceptable for someone on a factory bike in my opinion. We will see what happens next weekend as can't always take testing times seriously, I feel it will be much of the same though.
Would your views be different if the budget is coming from the fact that she will provide a big marketing boost, and therefore the ride wouldn't exist for anyone else? I suppose what I'm asking is if the choice was between a two rider Honda team or a three rider Honda team with Tinmouth on one of the bikes, which would you choose? And no, a three bike team without Tinmouth isn't an option here Sam Hornsey: 1:33.650

You could argue that Chris Walker has nothing to prove, whereas Jenny does. Was disappointing from him considering he usually goes so well in the wet.
Out of those two riders, I think one will improve come race day, one won't.

Why shouldn't Ralph Le Turco be in bsb?
This isn't fairy tale land where teams have special magic money trees so they can employ the quickest riders, the books have to be balanced , wages have to be paid, trucks have to be fueled up.
It's supposed to be the highest championship in Britain. This isn't fairy tale land where teams have special magic money trees so they can employ the quickest riders, the books have to be balanced , wages have to be paid, trucks have to be fueled up.
You wouldn't expect to see Accrington Stanley jump up to the Premiership instantly if they could afford to be there would you? No, they would have to work their way up by winning/being competitive in lower leagues first.

If the premier league changed the rules so you got in by money not results you'd have all manner of minor league chancers up there with there big investors.
Same as American sports, if you had enough cash you could buy a nba franchise and set up a new team and go to the top rung of basketball.

Hang on. Are you saying she has just walked in off the street amd got this ride? Are you sure she hasn't ridden at all sorts of levels amd done pretty well at them? You wouldn't expect to see Accrington Stanley jump up to the Premiership instantly if they could afford to be there would you? Well what has she won?
I've no idea. On her website it says she's had 36 podiums amd 16 wins, although that could be spread over all sorts. It's 36 podiums and 16 wins than I'll ever manage at National level. I'm still struggling why you think it's so bad that she's doing this. I'll guarantee she scores points this year too, she might not get loads, but she'll get some. I know there are some real talents out there who can't make the move I to the top level due to finds amd others who are getting the breaks, but there are quite a few riders that I could argue don't deserve to be there. Quite a few SuperSprt riders have stepped up and a lot of those didn't win a single race last year, yet have got good rides.

So you think the final decision regarding which rider to choose should be taken away from the teams? How do you propose that the criteria is decided? It is fairly clear that the decision to add a third bike is PR-led initiative but it is still an interesting one.
Being as though this is probably going happen, grumbling or not, what results do think would be a measure of success for Tinmouth?
Well she's on a factory bike, she should be looking at getting into the showdown. Being as though this is probably going happen, grumbling or not, what results do think would be a measure of success for Tinmouth?

I imagine a lot of those are at club level. I'm still struggling why you think it's so bad that she's doing this. If you guarantee it sounds like we need to have a bet! A crate of Peroni perhaps?
I just think she's competing at too high a level. I agree there are other riders too that don't deserve to be there. I'm not just having a go at her. I think you should prove you are competitive in other classes before being earning a ride in top level racing.

A crate of Peroni it is. I really just want her to do OK, as it just seems that those in the lower classes are being a bit brutal and I like to support an underdog. Having chatted with a few at the lesser end of the BSB scale, they're quite adamant that she'll put a few noses out of joint this year. If you guarantee it sounds like we need to have a bet! I admit I'm st at this bike racing lark! Not claiming to be a pro!LoonR1 said:
There are 3 factory Hondas, arguably 5 ZX10s, 2 BMWs,possibly even 4, 2 R1s, 2 GSXRs and lots of other well funded teams. Only 6 can make the showdown.
There's no factory ZX10s I thought? Being on a factory bike you have to be aiming for the top, you have the top machinery after all. What do you think she should be aiming for?

Lots of posturing form Paul Bird, but Kawasaki pay all the bills now, GB Moto team are well funded (maybe not factory but have a lot of Kawasaki money), ditto BeWiser for Danny Buchan's ride. They might not be official Factory with a capital "F" but there's lots of money and lots of trick factory parts either fitted for free or bought at a significant discount fitted to those bikes.

There won't be a single rider lining up on that grid that will not give everything they can, irrespective of the support they getAsking what she has won somewhat tries to discredit her. Anybody, male or female, that has no qualms about rocking up at the TT and putting a 119.9mph lap in, must be worthy of a decent ride
