Discussion
Hi all progress is going well
Last night we did ten miles front the john o groates sign to our first camp site at Chris' mates farm house in brough.
Set off at half 7 this morning and we have just got to Inverness.
My internet isn't great but the peds are running great.
I'll try and give a better update tonight
John
Ps if anyone has strava I'm tracking the route on there, give me a search if you want?
John bean
Or my email address is beanieshere@hotmail.com if you need that to find me? Not too sure as I've never used it haha

Evening everyone
Well today has gone really well.
We've done 220 miles from brough to glenco!!
This was our camp site up at brough thanks to Vaughan
What an amazing place he has up there, in the middle of nowhere right on the coast overlooking a cove that apparently had seals..... After a few Stella's we decided to go down and have a look if we could see any and we was absolutely convinced we saw ten of them playing in the waves...... We went down at 5am in the morning to see if we could see them on the beach.... There were no seals and by this time the tide was out and the "seals" that we thought we saw were actually rocks sticking out of the sea..... Haha
We set off from Vaughans at about half 7 heading to Inverness, we picked a route with the least hills as possible and it kind of worked, there was a few big hills but the peds did excellent and actually got up them with only a slight peddle on a couple of them.
Up one of the large hills coming into Inverness Chris decided that he would breakdown half way up so we had to try and find out what was up with it, turns out it was his plug that had gone dodgy.
Changed the plug and away we go onto glenco where we are now
What an amazing time we are having!

Evening all, checking in from the pub in Annan we've only managed 178 miles today but my dad wanted to stop here because he knows someone here that we can dump all of the stuff that we don't need to carry.
Set off at glenco at half past 6 in the bright sunshine and mozzys a plenty, the little buggers have bitten the life out of my head so I've spent the whole day with an itchy head in my helmet, absolute pissing nightmare.
If you have never been to glenco and done the glenco pass through the mountains you need to do it, what an amazing road that is when the sun is out, the views are breathtaking.
We also Went down an awesome deserted road down the side of the motorway (I'll check the name of it when I get home) I would definitely recommend going down it on the bigger bike.
From there we went through Glasgow in pretty busy traffic which wasn't ideal, on one of the really busy roundabouts my grandads tent poles fell off his bike so I had to stop and dodge the traffic to get them back for him.
We are just enjoying a nice cold pint in one of the pubs here and we've just been told by one of the pretty for barmaids that there will be a festival on next weekend to celebrate the scots driving out the English.... Good job we arnt here next weekend.
I think that's about it for today's adventure
Cheers :-)
P.S thank you for getting us up to the £500 mark :-)
Also thank you for all the encouragement it means a lot

On the 28th July Myself, My Dad, My Grandad and Chris Long will be making the 1000 mile trip over 7 days from John O Groat's to Land's End on 50cc peddle and pop mopeds (Honda PC50's)
How come you've started the trip early? Stay frosty
Right then update time
Set off from annon at about 20 past 8 heading on the a6 south, stopped off for a pint before we tackled shap hill.
After our pint we set off for the dreaded hill and not 200 metres up my bike died, it was like it was flooded or something so we drained the carb and it started straight away and we carried on, nearly at the top and my dads bike started playing up and he thought he had seized it so we pulled over to check it out and let it cool down for half an hour, he had a look over it and it turns out it wasn't seized and ran perfect again after it had cooled down.
After shap hill we went on through Preston at rush hour (bloody nightmare) then onto Wigan and we have finally stopped of in Newton le-willows at a hotel called "the pied bull hotel" such a good hotel and the food is amazing, massive portions and really nice if any of you are this way on I would definitely recommend coming in here for a meal, this is their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pied.bull.5?ref=search
Not too many miles today because of the breakdowns and the rush hour traffic.

Going well so far, I expect that like me you were surprised at how big Scotland is ! I didn't find going through Preston too bad, but Lancaster during the morning was busy, Shap is a bit of a challenge isn't it ? You still have some nice roads to ride and hope you enjoy the rest of your ride ..
