Yes that's what I'd expect, but blue?
Water is blue, have you never seen a child's painting of the sea?

i thought that too i suspected/guess/took a shot in the dark that it might be a special mixture to prevent engine damage when it was riding on water.

Depends what the oil is. Castrol R for example has a definate blue/purple tint to it, so I guess if you mixed it with water it may well end up an odd blue colour.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I remember on thumper talk a few years ago! being amazed at the vids posted by guys in. places like Canada, (BC) In winter, with skids fitted to their enduro bikes, that the front wheel sits through, then stick a paddle tyre on it, and they ride about like they're on skiddoos. Flipping awesome, and they seem well able to cross lakes the like with them on.

Amazing stuff.

I for one really enjoyed it. A great episode and Guy Martin is utterly bonkers but very likeable.
Not many people would launch themselves into a lake at 40/50mph on a crosser... biggrin

I liked this and the first show. Quite refreshing to see someone who actually walks the walk unlike the trio on TG who clearly turn up to be filmed hitting, sawing and welding cars in a garage before engaging in a set of unfunny, predictable, badly-staged 'mishaps'.

My dad (Lives on IOM) said Martin kept people waiting for an hour at a signing session (he charged the £25 or something) because he'd been on the sauce the night before. hehe

I'm sure the finer details have changed, like it was more 30 mins and £10 per autograph etc but still.

I would never EVER pay for an autograph! Not that I have ever asked nor would I ask for an autograph.

I have to say I may break that rule... I would love John McGuiness to sign my Fire blade tank as its in the Honda Legends colours.

Why on earth would you pay for Guy Martin's signature?!?!
Why on earth would he charge for them?!?!

If people are paying you and your sponsors the time to meet you, how can you have the barefaced cheek to charge them?

So many people get autographs to sell on nowadays so perhaps he is getting in first? A true fan will pay someone who gets it to sell on wont.

That'd be one of those wife's tales. For a start Guy isn't a heavy drinker, secondly he's quite often known to be the last man ou the door at PR events as he has been signing as much as possible. It's unfortunately one of those things, he has his fans and those that don't like (read jealous) of his popularity.

with you on this, I refuse to pay for it as it ruins the gesture.

many a happy day I spent as a lad getting my favourite players autography every game before a match
still have a great memory of going to the touring cars and getting will hoys autograph, the manufactures gave you posters to get signed for nothing, alan menu, rydell, reid, muller. it was great. now you have to pay to get in.

I was at hospitality last season with mg at the touring cars and getting shown around the garage a young lad asks for an autograph from the mg team, asking when the drivers will be out. standing infront of him was andy neate the number 2 driver. the crew pointed out he was a driver, the lad replied "I meant plato no him hes rubbish" I and the garage pished ourselves

best one I ever got was when I emailed arsenal to get dennis bergkamp to sign my top as id be a fan for decades. I got an email saying send the top down and he will sign it. I asked how much and got a reply "nothing just send it down with your return address".

a few weeks later got signed top "to alex best wishes dennis bergkamp" got signed photos, books on arsenal and loads of other stuff for free. they paid for the postage. I sent him back some programmes and other stuff from my local team and a letter of thanks for that, he probably flung it in the bin but the gesture was awesome.

little things like that go a huge way imo.

I'm inclined to agree, which is why I added that bit at the end.

He's like any celeb, disliked by some but liked by many. Unfortunately the dislikers are usually more vocal.

What always gets me when Guy is on screen is how he wears his lid, the chin bar is so high I'm surprised he can see out. Is it a racer thing in general?
