Does someone make a little cover to extend the fairing over the exposed bendy pipe ?
Other than that its lush
I think there's a company who make a CF panel to go there.Other than that its lush
Other than that, a can of black Hammerite would work wonders

Cheers guys - no cover that I know of, but I quite like the pipework on show there. The pipes sit a little proud fron the fairing too, so I would imagine a cover might look a bit tacked on anyway. It's a half system, so on the 2014> models the cat is a can at the end of the downpipes, which stays in place.
It's the full road legal exhaust with removable baffle, so even has the sound flap. I've not connected the cables up for this though, so the flap is sprung permanently open meaning a nice sound from tickover with baffle out. I don't think it will make much difference to power/torque with the cat and O2 sensor still there and no PCV, but the exhaust is about 5kg lighter than the standard exhaust!

George, good work! They look superb.
I might design myself a set over the summer holidays since i've got all the software required to model them, and even run FEA. Could knock them up next term in the workshop at uni or pay the workshop staff

Bet you could make some seriously good ones if you have the time to spend on them with FEA. Couldn't be arsed doing all that so just did a basic set that's easy to machine.

Of course, but in some ways theres little point! May as well over-spec them with a good factor of safety - on a road bike saving a few tens of grams is pretty pointless. What are the advantages to designing them such that the pedal is separated from the rear set, and the threaded rod doesn't pass through the frame, other than crash repairs?
Thanks,
Matt.
You've got to also remember that it's not so desirable to have a rearset mounting plate that is stronger than the cast tabs on the frame, some are very strong but on my zx6rr there's just two small mounting tabs off the frame and the rearsets appear to have been designed to bend or break rather than be that strong they damage the frame in an off. You could actually over spec anything bolted to the frame to the point where it's strength creates a weakness to the frame should you crash, so it's very important.

I think it's to do with race shift vs road shift. Both my Triumph and R6 have had the seperate gear lever set up so I based my design around that. Also the pivot point for the lever is on the frame too, pointless adding another. I'm sure you can make them look a lot better, mine are more function than form! Could chemi black and anodise bits of them too.

and lovely noisy La Franconi pipes with the vortex type baffle at the back end of the "silencer"
You mean like these;Couldn't resist the red swirly bits
The result of a late night drink-shopping incident last week, actually arrived before the bike. Not fitted yet, I'll sort the MOT first then get 'em on.

I wouldn't have minded a Yoshi or Leo Vince as wasn't keen on spending new Akra money, but they don't make them for the 2014 onwards Blade. In spite of the same look, there are a tonne of detail differences between the 2012 and 2014 MY Blades. Rearsets, tank filler, exhaust downpipes, bars, engine parts, exhaust servo position, undertray etc etc. Makes ordering parts tricky as the 2014 onwards model is not very well supported by the aftermarket companies.Biker's Nemesis said:
