Its the best circuit for bikes in the country, full stop.
1) st facilitiesIts the best circuit for bikes in the country, full stop.
2) No power
3) No garages
4) No paddock (tarmac)
5) Arse end of nowhere
6) Narrow/Dangerous - I've seen too many BIG accidents there
7) Little run off in places - Hairpin, Barn, even hall bends - I've seen bikes cartwheel across and hit other riders.
Other than that it's great

How are the facilities st? The club house is pretty good. Showers are decent. 2) No power

The lack of garages/power is reflected in the price.
Being in the middle of nowhere is a good thing, no locals to upset with noise.
Get there earlier and you will find there's plenty of Tarmac to set up on.
There is run off at hall bends. And more importantly there is a lot of run off at the fast corners. It doesn't matter as much at the hairpin as you aren't going quick. It's better than Oulton park where run off is completely minimal.
1) st facilities...rubbish, clubhouse even serves decent ale & fodder nowadays, showers uprated by way of decent boiler and individual cubicles...
2) No power...So what, what has been will probably always be.
3) No garages...See Above
4) No paddock (tarmac) Er, guess you missed the two full levels of tarmac then?
5) Arse end of nowhere....not really, Louth one side, Horncastle the other, just far enough away from both to not worry about noise complaints
6) Narrow/Dangerous - I've seen too many BIG accidents there...I've seen big incidents at every uk circuit, funnily enough, statistically Cadwell is actually one of the safest in UK.
7) Little run off in places - Hairpin, Barn, even hall bends - I've seen bikes cartwheel across and hit other riders.....Hairpin has a lot more than it usd to, you should have tried it when tyre barrier was next to the kerb... Barn has loads, and exit pushed back too, no easy task to move the pond back to do that either, hall bends you have to be offline or extremely unlucky to hit the barriers there, simple.
2) No power...So what, what has been will probably always be.

Done my only 3 TD's at Cadwell.
It's fking awesome! You'll love it
Agreed... I love it as it is as close to riding on the road at high speed that you will get without worrying about oncoming traffic or the plod... this appeals to me for some reason and for a beginner somewhere like Cadwell is a great track to start on ... it's simple to learn yet hard to perfect. Corner speeds are a bit lower than tracks such as silverstone, etc due to the width of it.It's fking awesome! You'll love it
Can't say the distance bothers me that much ... it's worth the effort every time I ride it.
Garages / Power don't bother me at all... In fact I prefer the 'open' paddock as easier to get chatting to others and therefore the experience feels a bit more laid back / friendly compared to bigger tracks where the atmosphere seems more 'serious'but that might just be down to the standard of machinery / rider at the bigger tracks.
I still haven't got it right in 3 tries
Here's something I only really thought about last time I was there and never realised. When you stand outside the cafe looking over the track, the difference in elevation between the top of the mountain/Hall Bends to what it is on the start/finish straight (ie after Barn) is massive, yet when you ride it you barely notice, you're obviously dropping the height through Hairpin and Barn but to ride it, it doesn't feel like you're losing much height (not compared to say Gooseneck into Mansfield). Anyone else ever not really realised just how much that section drops??

I have to say I am not a lover of Cadwell, as has been mentioned it is a ball ache to get too. No garages are a pain in the arse.2) No power...So what, what has been will probably always be.

I did like it before that stupid chicane was added before the mountain.
well hoping to be able to see what I thik of cadwell myself next month. As said trying to do different tracks to get a idea of what I like. At the moment Silverstone and Anglesey are top of my list.
Then once I've done brands and Rocky I won't have too many more that are under 250 miles from me. Oulton is on the list if I can get a 105db day if they every do it.
