First time running Dunlop Kr106/8 Slicks too. Had a 2 front and a 4 rear, and I'm not as impressed with them as I expected to be. I ran them at 34fr/22rr measured straight in from the track after warmers, so around 85deg
I think I still prefer the Bridgestone V02 Slicks that I normally run (medium Front / Soft Rear)
Anyone else compared the two ?
Either way, they're better then the Pirelli's we're having to race on this year
Interesting you didn't like them Graeme as I've just went the other way from Dunlops to Bridgestones and wasn't a fan. I did 2 days at Estoril on Dunlops and tried the Bridgestones for the last 2 sessions. was meant to be 3 but first time out to scrub them in and the rear tyre valve failed and the tyre went flat :O I think I still prefer the Bridgestone V02 Slicks that I normally run (medium Front / Soft Rear)

What didn't you like about them???
I MUCH prefer the Dunlop front. Have so much confidence in it for trail braking, and when I tried the V02's, I kept missing apexes as the front just felt like it was ready to fold. The rear V02 was very good. Plenty of feel and grip but when it did slide it was all very controlled.
Again, like you, I was comparing a hard rear (MS4) vs the soft rear V02 so not really a fair contest. An MS2 would be a fairer comparison against the soft V02.
Despite only trying them for 2 sessions, I did my fastest time on the V02 so it's obviously a very grippy tyre, just need to work on the front end feel. I'll also be wanting to compare like for like compounds to see the laptime difference
Like you say, it's not apples for apples with a soft rear BS and a hard Dunlop, but the edge grip doesn't feel as good and it moves around a lot more, although hasn't completely let go yet. The front took some messing around with pressures to get it to turn in, but once sorted, the grip on the brakes with lean is really good.
I found the front Soft BS front to not want to turn in, so ended up running them around 35psi. I've used a medium front recently, with a stiffer construction, and that sorts the front really well.
I'll get some softer compound dunlops soon and give them a blast to see if they're any better

A) you ran them too high pressure. I do 35 front 18 rearI think I still prefer the Bridgestone V02 Slicks that I normally run (medium Front / Soft Rear)

B) you’re comparing a hard rear Dunlop to a soft rear Bridgestone
I usually use a 1 or 2 front, and never more than a 3 on the back. Usually a 2
I run my rear Dunlop at 21psi. Dunlop themselves say you shouldn't run it below 1.3 bar which is 18.9psi so beware of going too low. Remember a few years back the moto2 teams were destroying tyres in the search for more grip by running them below recommended pressures. That's why moto2 ended up with tyre pressure monitors.

18PSI off the warmers is usually around 19-20 when coming in off the track so it's still above the minimumBiker's Nemesis said:
I heard he had a heart attack.
Apparently he left the track at quite a speed and ended up coming back on where he was run over. Air ambulance were 49mins on the ground. No limits staff and paramedics responded very quickly.
I did post on nolimits yesetrday asking how he was, but they hadn't had an update

It's not looking much like my bike will be done for racing this weekend, so I'll leave them on when the bike goes to Spain in 3 weeks and run them out on the first day to see what they're like in a warmer climateI have a good stock of V02's to take with me, so I guess I can get a better comparison then
Just in from No limits on Friday track day at Mallory
It's with a heavy heart we are tasked to announce that unfortunately there was a incident last Thursday 28th September at Mallory Park which resulted in a very unusual situation where there was a loss of a life.
A highly skilled member of the Kiddieminster Advanced Bikers and known customer Chris Pagett, was taking part on our trackday in middle group in perfect conditions. On that afternoon 58 year old Chris had simply slightly over ran the circuit at John Cooper Esses and on to the grassed area which caused him to slide off his Aprilia RSV4 Tuono. Unfortunately then Chris slid back on to the circuit and was collected by another bike despite the riders best attempt of avoiding action.
Paramedics attended the scene within moments and a helicopter was requested to ferry the injured rider to hospital. Sadly on arrival to hospital Chris lost his life due to injuries sustained while taking part in activity that Chris was so passionate about.
We apologise that we delayed announcing any facts until we had express consent from Chris's wife as we wished not to cause any further distress to Suzi or Chris's family.
No limits and it's staff wish to convey our sincere deepest heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Chris's wife, Suzi their son, family and friends at this extremely sad and heart breaking time.

I understand the need to post these updates and very sorry to hear about the above rider. However, I’ve not enjoyed the recent increase in social media rubbernecking around crashes. We all know tracking bikes is dangerous, but there seem to be too many posts on Facebook, with people asking about the outcomes of crashes, or discussing them in depth.
