Snetterton yesterday.

Started off wet but dried fairly quickly. Was quite a few red flags, and I understand the last session of Inters there was a bad incident, hope all involved OK. I'd just come round Murrays when the red flags went up so called it a day after that with only 8 mins left of the session I think they scraped it anyway.

Anyone else there enjoy the day?
Me. Trying out my R6 race bike(Light blue with #48 on it). I was in garage 18. Inters group as my friend and I wanted to have a bit of traffic to play with. lol.

I didn't see the incident in the last session, but I was coming in as the red flag went out.

Graeme, you need to do more Euro tracks. Once you've done Jerez you'll never want to do Cartagena again biggrin

I was in inters as well. Driving up there with the rain hammering down I thought I'm giving up this track day lark. Taking a day off work, getting up at the crack of sparrows to wobble round in the rain. All that was forgotten by mid morning. Even a mate who caused one of the reds enjoyed it!
I was getting a bit over confident in the last session, so when they red flagged it I called it a day too. Might try a Euro track over winter.

Exactly. I’ll just need a new set of undies if I pull a wheelie.

Old faithful. Still not had a chance to ride the new one or set it up so decided easier to learn a new track on a known quantity bike. Then learn the new bike at a track I know well early next year.

What difference is there in the spring rate between the two bikes? not a lot else to set up really.

I don’t know and getting it sorted seems to be like parting the Red Sea, as no bugger returns calls around it, let alone help me set it up. I’m not that fussed, actually, I lie, I’m fking fuming tbh. There are a few other things, like the seat unit and a few other niggles to sort out too.

Is there that much to get sorted? Surely a Euro track day is the best way to do it too? Loads of time on the same track to go and try stuff. That’s my plan to get to grips with the new bike anyway

There’s quite a bit that I want sorting before I’m fully happy. I don’t want to go to a 3 day trip to a ttack I’ve never been to on a bike that I’m learning and trying to set up all at the same time.

All moot anyway as the old bike is on its way to Portimao as we speak.

Which R1 have you got? Only ask as I smashed up my early (carbed) one half way through the last day of a recent 3 day Euro event and I tried to run it without any fairing for the last bit and it was very grumpy, lean & misfiring at high speed as air was getting under the tank and accidently pressurising the airbox.

Even a injected one might not be so keen down Snett's straights if it's supposed to run air tubes and you cannot due to lack of a nose cone etc.
