Graeme, I know you've posted the details before but the search function on here is gash and I can't find your post.

Can you tell me more about yours and your sons pitbikes? I had a shot of a mates today and had a giggle, considering buying one for mucking about on

You were supposed to ask him "how much?" unless I'm much mistaken.

How much btw?

Looking for £1800.

We've got one at the moment, as the other's in bits
It's a Honda CRF50 sized bike, but made my CW (they're all Chinese crap that comes over as MX style Pitbikes and tarted up by various brands as supermoto pit bikes)
It's got a 140cc engine that makes about 16bhp and it's 4 gears, all up from Neutral.
It's something a bit like this, but without all the bling trinket parts, so would be around £1200 new
http://cwbikes.co.uk/store/#!/CW-140-R-SUPERMOTO-J...

We have CRF50 sized bikes as they make it easier to throw around on indoor tracks, but most outdoor track riders/racers use a CRF70 sized bike, which is the same but a big bigger

You can still throw a 50 sized bike around outside though, it's just not as stable through the fast corners, but they're all pretty slow anyway.

If you've got a few more quids to spend and want a decent outdoor bike, most 'adults' use the actual Honda CRF's, which make way more power, are miles more reliable, but only come in the bigger sizes and suck to use indoors as well as costing upwards of £3k

I started renting after obliterating my bike at Cadwell. Suits me much better as the biggest risk is £500 compared to a whole bike if you crash. It’s so stress free just having to ride the bike too, literally nothing to worry about as you pretty much have your own pit crew.

For the 1 or 2 days a year I’ll do it makes much more sense. I loved it in 2015 when I did a load of days but it costs a lot of money and I’m not that convinced it’s worth it.

It was a CW140 I was playing on today, but believe it was a 110 chassis, and were using it outdoors. There an outdoor kart track about 1 hour 15 from my house that I can use it at, nowhere closer, but seems like a good laugh for kicking around on between Trackdays to stay bike fit and Focussed

On a kind of related note what tracks are recommended around the Costa Blanca region of Spain?
I’m going sailing there for a couple of weeks in early October and wouldn’t mind getting a trackday in the sun in whilst I’m there, as long as there’s somewhere that will hire bikes?
Costa Blanca you have Valencia, Albacete, Cartegena or further down there is Almeria, I've not ridden any of them but been to each plenty of times.

As for bike hire, I used a 675R from Rob at Crazy Dayz Track Bike Hire (on the Facebook) when I went to Cartagena in January this year. Recommended.

FFS it’s sold out already. How many of those will be selling it on in a few months time?
Phillip Island Ride Days do bike & kit hire. Just incorporate it into a holiday. A mate (Mike with the Ducati) did it a few years back and loads of Brits were doing it.

Shipping your own bike half way round the world seems a bit extreme somehow!

First kinda trackday booked. Odiham on 20th May. It’s an airfield day but for £65 you can’t complain really. Worth looking at for anyone who’s down south.

Will try and squeeze one in beforehand, I’m tempted with Pembrey this Sunday as it looks like the weather might be ok over there and raining everywhere else. Will wait til Saturday to decide though I think.

I'd never heard of that, so just googled it. Looks decent for a airfield track, and the surface looks a lot better then most airfield circuits.

I'd also never heard of it but thanks for the heads up as only 30 minutes from my door! Will definitely give that a go.

Hi All,

Does anyone know how easy it is to camp at Anglesey the night before a TD? Done it before at Cadwell.

Cheers.

Very easy. Don’t go near the little wind turbine they have though it makes such an irritating noise throughout the night

It’s the most laidback track you’ll ever get to, that can be good or bad though depending on your viewpoint. You’re unlikely to get challenged in any way. What it does mean is that nobody else is either, so be on your guard, as stuff can go AWOL.
