Both the Duc and your Gsxr look stunning bud, I really don't understand the jealousy thing, at least he's actually using it properly.
I've managed to book a few days, 3 days at Pembrey to get back into the swing of things, and then Donny, Cadwell days later in the year before Portimao in Oct.
Spent the last few weeks stripping everything off the bike and giving it a going over, also had the fairings done again by Sublime.
Fitted new EX clip ons, still have to fit the samco hose kit, new chain and sprockets and sort a few other niggles, but she's getting there.

I always try to be the Suzuki track rider over Yamaha like I ride Aprilia over Ducati on the road...but I cant deny the Yam's are arguably the best every day riders track bike. When I was at Snett last Sunday some rider on a black R1 was giving me a hard time. Watching the electronics on that and slide control truly in action was amazing. I could never do that on mine - would spit me off I reckon.I've managed to book a few days, 3 days at Pembrey to get back into the swing of things, and then Donny, Cadwell days later in the year before Portimao in Oct.

They look good, sound amazing and are built right up there with Honda now. Same with their mx bikes. Proper solid bikes
Cheers Paul, I have every intention of not crashing it lol, but it's insured if I do thankfully.
Birky I'm a huge fan of Apes, I've ridden a few RSV4s now including the factory and a journo mate had the new Gsxr back before lockdown for a long term test, I had a few short rides on that too, very impressive bikes all of them.
My only criticism of the gsxr and the rsv4 was basically the points you raised with the R1s electronics package, for me it's the best I've sampled so far, it really allows you to lean on them and almost take the piss, I definitely feel faster with them on than without.
But I'm nowhere near fast enough to really use any of the potential these new bikes have to offer, I'm a yamaha fan but I'm constantly tempted to try something else, think I've got a few years left with the r1 yet though.

Not exactly big bikes, but took my Bucci 190 up to Kinsham cart track yesterday for a few laps in the rain if anyone's interested

Not heard anything about Spa yet but I’m not confident Belgium will be on the Green List.
I’m on the June event. DG Sports / Bikersdays have declared the events are going ahead but obviously it’s currently illegal to travel for non essential reasons. After May 17th that may change but most EU countries will be on ‘Amber’ and need some sort of self isolation getting home which is bad enough coming home (lying required) but surely unachievable for most if it’s also required on the outbound leg.
No Limits are aware of current legality of situation and they’re dealing with established customers hence the delayed final payment.
This is without even considering the now grey area of sticking a race bike in the back of your van and entering the EU.
I’d quite happily cancel it at the moment & spend the credit thrapping round Lydden or similar - cannot be doing with stress atm.
P.S. See you out there if it goes ahead I’ll be wearing a fake moustache (under my mask etc) just like last year.

Hope it goes ahead but I really don’t expect Belgium to be anything better than Amber and while I’ll be fully vaccinated by then that’s still not a guarantee that I’d be allowed back in without isolation and I’d imagine many of those that booked won’t be vaccinated by then anyway.
Hope they decide soon so that people and businesses can make plans. I’m not bothered if it’s cancelled but other U.K. dates are filling up quick.
What’s the deal with taking the bike to the EU? I’ve seen snippets but nothing clear.

Looking at booking a day at Silverstone at short notice. Does anyone know if a front brake lever guard is needed there?
I’d assume so and fit one regardless. You’ll need it elsewhere so just get one sorted now. When are you planning? I’m there on the 17th, subject to having a working bike.Tribal Chestnut said:

Was dry when we arrived, but walking back from safety brief the heaven's opened and it hammered down constantly, then the wind came, gusts over 60mph and a track that's turned into a lake made for an interesting session, only managing one before deciding it was just not worth it.
First time on proper wets though (Pirelli) and I don't understand what sort of black magic they use to get that sort of grip in those conditions, blew me away.
Annoyingly this new I2M dash doesn't contain Pembrey in the tracks list, if anyone has any experience setting on of these up properly I'd be grateful for any insights.
Regardless, back again on Sunday for another go at it.
