At Silverstone today....have packed my wetsuit.
Me too. Rain & standing water in the morning was fairly biblical but dry afternoon sessions made up for it if you could cope with the gale force winds. Quite enjoyed myself! What were you riding / group?
Did a couple of laps each session in the morning, the wind was too much for me so didn't do much in the afternoon. Bike had trouble on the last session and this evening I've found the fuel pump relay full of water.
Disappointing day.
You came through copse, and it tried to blow you into the infield, and I was leaning to one side all the way down the back straight to keep the bike going in the right direction.
At least it was dry in the afternoon, as the morning was minging

I'm on the Bedford date so see you there. Will be in garage 1
Good stuff, see you there.Bit of a mixed morning - session one was a write off, second saw me sliding all over the place on the damp bits, but staying upright, another red on session 3, then just started to get a little confidence back in the 4th before packing up early.
Looked like a lovely afternoon was on the cards though.
Brands next week so that will hopefully be dry. Just need to sort some mechanical gremlins.
Hi guys, I'm going to Cadwell for James Whitham track training in July, I'm going to take my cbr 600 but need to fit a front brake lever guard, does anyone know if there are any options witch fit with the standard Honda in bar vibration damper set up?
I'm guessing probably not but thought I'd check as rather not have to remove the grips and the vibration dampers if I don't have to.

Just fit one of these. You don’t even take the standard bar end weight off, fit this on top using the longer M5 bolt that it comes with.

Hi all, I've booked my first trackday at Pembrey circuit here in Wales.
Dumb question, I have a leather suit, but it doesn't have knee sliders.I don't plan on going fast enough to need to put my knee that low, and I don't 'want to get my knee down', but there are empty velcro patches for sliders.
Do they provide protection? Just wondering whether I should get some or if it doesn't matter.
Going on my SV650, figured it would be a good bike to learn the fundamentals on.

You can drag a knee at a relatively low speed, it's all your positioning on the bike. But on your first trackday I think you needn't worry, and can just enjoy being able to ride quickly in a safe(r) and legal environment. That being said, I'd buy a pair and stick them on if you can. With instruction or natural skill progression at some point you'll be at the stage where you can use your knee touching the ground as a handy tool to gauge your body position. But the main reason you'll want sliders, is so you can go knee down for the photos Hi all, I've booked my first trackday at Pembrey circuit here in Wales.

Sliders are not made to offer protection, other than that of protecting against friction damage of course. I wouldn't expect them to help in a crash, but nor are they likely to do harm. To my knowledge you do not need them to comply with the rules.
I think an SV650 is among the best bikes to use on a first trackday, it's got modest usable power, and its forgiving as it'll tell you if you're pushing a bit too much. Just make sure the tyres, brakes and your kit is all in good nick and you're ready to go. Pembrey is also pretty fun, only been once as I did my ACU race licence there. You'll have a blast.
Best of luck!
Hi all,
Leathers question, I'm at Cadwell in July and have noted they require a full length back protector (seems mandatory since last year) and if two piece leathers then they must zip 360 degrees.
Currently I have an RST two piece, which has RST's standard yellow insert back protector, does anyone know if this constitutes to a full length back protector or not? My current jacket/trousers don't zip 360 degrees, the zip goes round my hips and back but I can't see this is good enough.
If my back protector is OK then I will buy a second hand RST suit and just switch my back protector over to get round the zip issue, but if the back protector isn't good enough then I'll need to look at other options.

What 2 piece leathers do you have? Most leave a 6 inch gap at the front which is fine. The back protector will be ok too.
