Just booked Mugello form the summer, a bit excited
I fancy doing a french track and driving down, anyone got experience of Magny Cours, always liked the F1 there in my youth but not sure how good it is for bikes, is le mans a better bet?
Compared to Le Mans its rubbish, also although not France, consider Spa, drive there is just as easy.I fancy doing a french track and driving down, anyone got experience of Magny Cours, always liked the F1 there in my youth but not sure how good it is for bikes, is le mans a better bet?

My brother and I have Aragon booked for March and Mugello booked for June, both new tracks to us, so can't wait!!

No Limits often offer Val De Vienne, which is good for bikes and quite technical. Nice part of the world too if you want to make a holiday of it. Not too far from the Normandy ports either. I am however quite slow compared to most. A lot of lads there were doing it as a double header with Le Mans which they raved about. I think the circuit also does their own trackdays too.

It's grippy enough in the wet though, but make sure you take wet tyres just in case

Last time I went Silverstone was summer 2021 and before that was my first year of track days in 2016
Its alright but nothing special - especially not for the money
It's big bucks, but then so is Brands (i think maybe £259 vs £270)Its alright but nothing special - especially not for the money
I'd take Brands as a circuit to ride, but the trackdays there are just too busy and you don't get enough track time, and not many clubs race there as the cost of hiring the circuit is silly money for the full GP layout (No limits racing are now the only ones, and even their Friday test day is on the Indy layout)
I'm biased, but Silverstone is up there as one of my favourite UK tracks along with Oulton and Brands
It needs you to attack it to enjoy it, but to do that, you need to put the time in to learn it. I still think Maggots/Becketts complex is one of the best bits of track out of all of them I've ever ridden
It's academic now, as they won't ever hold trackdays or club racing there ever again, and although BSB Stk1000 and BTC are support classes at MotoGP this year, that's as close as BSB will ever get to going back there too
Mega circuit to ride, but shocking for Spectators and lots of dosh

We did get chatting to a Welsh chap who'd been going for 7 or 8yrs in September and actually only ever had a couple of rainy days...he also said that he'd only had one or two years without a fatality, so swings and roundabouts...
I've just booked 2 days at Cadwell at the end of March, keeping my fingers crossed for decent weather!
My first port of call will be to fit new tyres, as the current ones were past their best a long time ago. 600 SRAD, pure track bike, but I am not a fast rider and I do not plan to change wheels to suit the conditions or use tyre warmers, as this would be taking the piss at my level. Any recommendations for a decent track day tyre, or anything to avoid?

A Pirelli Rosso4 is a really good tyre for most conditions (other than snow) and don't need warmersMy first port of call will be to fit new tyres, as the current ones were past their best a long time ago. 600 SRAD, pure track bike, but I am not a fast rider and I do not plan to change wheels to suit the conditions or use tyre warmers, as this would be taking the piss at my level. We have (Had) them on our instructor Panigale V4's at Silverstone, and I've ridden in all sorts of conditions with them on track, and they've been great

Is that really the case regarding Silverstone? I was hoping they'd have something for 2025 onwards. GreaseNipple said:
Does anyone do UK track days at this time of year? Is it worth it or will tyres stay too cold. I'm looking at weather forecasts and thinking of booking one if its meant to be dry
I've got 3 coming up 15/16 18 March. To be honest all depends what tyres you are using and what your expecting. If it's damp/ drying and cold I've used full wets for majority of the day. Usile Dunlop TT,s normally and they heat up quick enough even on a cold day.
