OK.......the crank seals are goosed, it made 65HP on the first dyno run (stock is 70-75RWHP) , then as it warmed up dropped to low 50s...so i have a 50HP RD500...The "intermintent" nature is due to the fact when the bike was cold/left for a while, the seals could seal to a certain extent and do there job for a little while but as the bike warms, they are failing.
I knew the bike had been standing for a long time with a low mileage and their was a likelihood problems could arise but hey ho, James will put it right and set it all up to be strong motor, some bills to come but at least the flipping wedding bill is out of the way!
Oh, thats bad news, any idea cost wise for the re build?I knew the bike had been standing for a long time with a low mileage and their was a likelihood problems could arise but hey ho, James will put it right and set it all up to be strong motor, some bills to come but at least the flipping wedding bill is out of the way!

It's a Sunday, everyone is out and I'm doing family stuff...
So I'm doing a shameless selfie of my bike from the other day
Enjoy your rides today - I'm not jealous or anything
I've got paddock stands like those, I think everyone that had a bike 15-20 years ago had stands like that.So I'm doing a shameless selfie of my bike from the other day

One of the lads bought a 16 plate Multistrada from somewhere in Essex a few weeks back and has only just covered 300 miles. (ish)
We were just about to go onto a moor road up here when he had the front come off the ground a bit as the road drops away, as it landed his front wheel locked a bit and the bike wobbled all over the place as it came to a stop.
In the pictures you can see that the bottom yoke stem has slid out of the top yoke letting the bottom yoke slide nearly all the way to the mudguard which in turn made the forks and front wheel come back until it hit the engine guard.
When checked all the bottom yoke bolts were finger tight with one of them missing, we got it pused back up and took a bolt out of the rear peg and used it for the one missing.
Too say he's lucky is an understatement, a bit further up the road and its 120 ish drops and crests. It doesn't bear thinking about.

fk me, he should buy a lottery ticket, I always wave a spanner at a bike when I buy it, precisely for this reason, you just don't know what sort of incompetent half wit has been working on it.We were just about to go onto a moor road up here when he had the front come off the ground a bit as the road drops away, as it landed his front wheel locked a bit and the bike wobbled all over the place as it came to a stop.

So it hasn't taken long to get to the 500 mile service (well the garage is 30 miles away) so I had better get it booked in.
Unfortunately I'm pretty busy, so it's going to be a few weeks. The tt600 might be coming out again.
Very trick dash....what bike mate?Unfortunately I'm pretty busy, so it's going to be a few weeks. The tt600 might be coming out again.

It's the new street triple r / rs dash. It's really smart. My only complaint is the auto contrast, it looks best with the black background but will only do that when it's darker out (overcast etc). You can fix it in high contrast (white background) but not low contrast.
Tiny bit of something over the sensor? Makes it think it's always dark then job done I've finally given up on Sports bikes, the mind remains willing but the body not so much, I've had enough of the aches and pains so got this now, got to say wish I'd done it sooner it's a wonderful thing. I now need some retro gear (and no not BN's 80's leathers ) as I look a bit of a berk in a one piece on it
