A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 4)
Discussion
Fitted led bulbs in my bike as the stock ones are crap
Hopefully the improve the light a bit. I did alot of research before I purchased as there's alot of crap out there
If I could've I'd have run hid as I still think they are better but there's no space in my bike unfortunately
Left stock right led to show difference before I fitted other side in

I can do you a deal
Have a little read of my write up and see if it still suits!
I was adamant it was the bike for me but it just leaves me feeling a little cold, even if 5th gear wheelies with 3 figures on the clock (over a crest I might add) are possible
I'll have a read, it's WELL over my budget though, and I've just bought a bike! Have a little read of my write up and see if it still suits!

My new VFR800fi (pre-VTEC), 23k miles, bloody brilliant condition. The new commuter workhorse which has replaced my trusty CB400. Filled up the Tuono today with V-Power for the last commute on it until Summer gets here again (it runs like a tractor on regular unleaded I've found!) and I got a whopping 32mpg commuting!
Looks bloody tidy! A pal of mine has one albeit in silver, riding it recently it's just so smooth compared to the KTM.
Complete worlds apart but a fantastic bike, they make an awesome noise if the can happens to fall off and just leave header pipes

You can never have too many bikes Looks bloody tidy! A pal of mine has one albeit in silver, riding it recently it's just so smooth compared to the KTM.

Picked this mega low miles (5500), pampered 58 reg Fazer last night for two up & touring duties.
Needs de-blinging somewhat, not entirely to my taste but much money spent on add-ons. The previous owner did 300 miles since he bought it in 2014. He nearly cried when I told him what I wanted it for, not to mention it pouring down moments after I left.
Anyone near a FZ1/R1/R6 to tell me the length of the grips. Urgently want to replace the 'toilet roll tube' thick heated ones immediately - one's loose & the other doesn't work.

Looks very tidy, later model too (nicer mirrors, no choke, HISS etc). Do me & MS Tom a favour & try a magnet on the headers!!

Rode it into work this morning, it's sooooo smooth!! A little v-twin shudder below 2500rpm but silky smooth about that, really gets a shift on above 7k, nice growl even with the standard can! The previous owner did the magnet trick and it does stick, however apparently there's 2 types of stainless, one magnetic one not. But the end can the magnet doesn't stick to, so...

Some stainless can be magnetic but honestly seeing the pictures it looks as though the pipes are black or at least very darkened?
I'd hazard a guess they're not stainless

Ah lots of bikes have a slight shudder at lower RPM's, they just aren't designed to sit there!

Sorry Tom, thought it was you who said later VFRs had stainless downpipes on Tall Paul's other thread. It was Podman. Some stainless can be magnetic but honestly seeing the pictures it looks as though the pipes are black or at least very darkened?

Tail pipe on those definitely stainless steel.

The motor doesn't, the bike as a whole does.
The engine is an absolute peach... apart from it's thirst. Although twin & hooligan tendencies might be the main cause of that.
Yes, the engine can't be ridden easily and so it isn't that fuel efficient. If you ride it gently, it's a lot better on fuel. The engine is an absolute peach... apart from it's thirst. Although twin & hooligan tendencies might be the main cause of that.
I read your review, not sure why it's not 'your bike'. Maybe just not gelled with it yet.
Regarding the servicing, it's a very simple bike to work on. And although slightly more labour intensive all jobs are simple to do. And they are very reliable really.

I think it was a heart purchase more than a head and sadly it didn't pay off, no bother as life is for experiences in my eyes.
Simple bike to work on yes, but it seems needlessly difficult to do simple jobs. Air filter for example is a serious amount of dismantling with screws that aren't easy to access when there are far simpler solutions used across many ares of the automotive industry.
I've no huge doubts about reliability in all honesty, it's just the internet scare stories that for some reason get spoken about on some brands more than others, in my direct experience people I know who have owned KTM's have had little to no bother.
Anyway - picture for the picture thread.
Loads of people rave about elbow down being a new thing, I found and saved this a while back as I stumbled across it on google - Dec 1999 was the issue.
