Yeah, I was a bit sceptical hearing from others who had similar results before I decided to give it a go. It appears like the factory map and retarded timing is very poor for Euro3/4 purposes, and all this is doing is returning the engine to what it should be producing based on published specifications.
My far more accurate Butt-Dyno wink recognises the better smoothness and stronger pull everywhere and top end cruising is far less strained. However, mpg has probably dipped by 2mpg after 2k miles post-remap. Worth it imho.

It's a MY17 E4 GS, pre-facelift. I don't need the extra fuel capacity of the GSA, and I prefer the handling of the lighter GS. There are gazillions of farkles as you know, but the most useful _functional_ upgrades I've found are:
  • the BMW adjustable pegs (made by Gilles),
  • GSA screen with MRA X-Screen extender (allows you to ride lid up at speed, but may not be so good if you're going off-road)
  • Cymarc screen support bracket
  • Mudsling to keep crap off the shock and reduces at least half the spray off the back tyre
  • Bumot pannier system
  • Sargent seats
  • decent tyres better than the crap Anakee3
  • remap
  • CREE led spotlights
  • Bigfoot
  • Wunderlich gearshift lever
  • Altrider front engine guard
  • Altrider engine bars + engine covers (take your pick here as lots available)
  • Hex EzCan (I use this to add stuff to the canbus)
  • coffee grinds from Starbucks for kudos, although you may not need this in SA wink
There are loads of others, but it depends on use, and I suspect Malawi riding is quite different to popping down to Starbucks or joining around the M25 smile

Are you going for a new Rallye? I've heard mixed reviews on the new ESA, but the new 'sport' chassis option for off-road with the extra 2" clearance would be quite useful I imagine.
How have you found the LED lights? I've fitted Philips LED H7's on mine. Not used at night yet but looks very bright and more blue/white than the old yellow on mone. I think its 6500k? They talk about lumens and stuff but its a bit beyond me. Its supposedly nearly double my halogens I know that much (quoted)

The main factory dipped lights on the GS are all LED and give decent power. The photo below is as the additional Cree leds appear, and these are set to only 40% power at daytime. Flashing high beam puts them to burn your retinas at 100%...

I recognise that place winklaughlaugh

Cool I need to give mine a try. They is a 'euro' mod Im told that makes the low and high run together but Im yet to pull all the front off and try it. Wouldnt mind if it was a 30 minute job...but its not

I prefer the front view, the lines are perfect, still need to fit some rearsets and levers to mine but these things cost money biggrin

Out on the LC earlier, spotted a new Porsche Mocan thing ahead of me briskly turn off and floor it down a section of B roads I know well,I wasnt intending to ahead that way but you know...sometimes you listen to the devil on your shoulder.

Anyway, he was trying and tried harder when I imagine what appeared to be a noisy 125 came up behind him, whilst the LC is a slow bike Vs almost anything else nowadays, they aint that slow to 80ish MPH and on these roads its ample, I enjoyed overtaking him and leaving him for dust , I hope he clocked it was 36 years old ..

This is very irresponsible behaviour, extremely immature and absolutely deplorable.

Well done smile.

Interesting and Mark from BSD chuckled at the hilltop claim of MCN going there. I believe they have done a few when BSD are too busy. BSD did the latest GSXR test and generally do all tests. MCN are in next week with the R6.

Not BSD. Hilltop. Best to ask more knowledgeable than me... but rich running is better than overly lean running which can cause hotspots/detonation given timing advance. More fuel helps everything run cooler (and smoother too).

Currently i certainly wouldn't rate Hilltop.
I got mine mapped by them and so far unimpressed by the low down fuelling.

I had a video link come up on my Facebook and it was Michael Neeves at Hilltop on a new 2017 GSXR1000 running a before test then changing the end can and having it tweaked to suit. I didn't imagine it as Neevsey even mentioned the truly kith velvet covers on the waiting room sofa and showed the moniter linked to the dyno cell. It all looked just the same as when I had been there with Spareparts the month before.

Search for MN Videos and ye shall find it.
