I don't know/care about the BSD/Hilltop politics. All I know is that the video was quite clear on where it was done: https://www.facebook.com/MotorcycleNews/videos/101...

Interesting and Mark from BSD chuckled at the hilltop claim of MCN going there. I believe they have done a few when BSD are too busy. BSD did the latest GSXR test and generally do all tests. MCN are in next week with the R6.

Not BSD. Hilltop. Best to ask more knowledgeable than me... but rich running is better than overly lean running which can cause hotspots/detonation given timing advance. More fuel helps everything run cooler (and smoother too).

I know the couple that run Deleval hall and their Two sons. Do you get further than the 5 mile radius of Deleval or Whitley Bay?

Friday morning rush hour - Tyndrum to Dalmally. Beautiful weather and a great road.

Then on to Inveraray - Fortunately I managed to get parked OK.

Out on the LC earlier, spotted a new Porsche Mocan thing ahead of me briskly turn off and floor it down a section of B roads I know well,I wasnt intending to ahead that way but you know...sometimes you listen to the devil on your shoulder.

Anyway, he was trying and tried harder when I imagine what appeared to be a noisy 125 came up behind him, whilst the LC is a slow bike Vs almost anything else nowadays, they aint that slow to 80ish MPH and on these roads its ample, I enjoyed overtaking him and leaving him for dust , I hope he clocked it was 36 years old ..

Get in, hoy it up the wker hehe

Tall Paul, I'm looking at a 9,000 mile RC36 VFR and the owner says its original paint, I'm not sure because there are areas of orange peel but then I can see the same on that last picture of yours, do you know if yours has ever been painted?

Yours looks in fantastic condition by the way, very clean in both senses of the word!

Had a nice run into the Lakes tonight after work

It's pics like this that make me wish I still had mine, my trouble is no matter what I have got (R1 was replaced by S1000RR so I wasn't complaining) but I always want what I haven't got!

Mine had a very slow speed drop on the right side, the previous owner was very open about that, so it has had some work on the right side fairing. There is a bit more orange peel on that fairing, mostly on the top of the fairing where your knees sit, but other than that you have to stare at it a long time to notice anything. I'd compare paint on both sides, on the original side fairing mine still has some orange peel, and on the tail section, both of which are the original paint. The metal parts are good but it seems the plastics get it a little.

Here's the other side for comparison:

Can see a little where my hand is reflected.

And the top of the fairing, left side and right side (the worst of the difference)

And the seat cowl, which is the original paint there's a tiny bit.

It doesn't bother me as it's a 17 year old bike, I looked at a mint one owner bike but tbh I'd feel guilty using that through winter, it was absolutelu mint! You have to really look to notice anything on mine.

I was in a German motor museum a few years ago and saw this. Being a man of a certain age I came over all misty eyed

Washed my VFR ready to go to my dad. I wasn't planning on getting rid of it but when he offered to swap it for his fireblade I couldn't really say no. Looking forward to picking it up tomorrow!

Put the R1 back on the road. Its been sat in the garage for the last few years. I was a little nervous about the ride to the garage but soon relaxed. Just need to sort out tax and wait for some decent weather. Been miserable here today. Always on the brink of raining. Hopefully it will be nicer tomorrow.
