Hey mate, had a brilliant trip, we went Vosges, Dura, alps, down to St tropez and back up via Mont ventoux, ardeche, Auvergne and Normandy
Did loads of cols, Columbier, cornet du rose land, Iseran, cenis, Izoard, cayolle, gorge du dalius , Verdon, route napolean, col du vence etc
The bike was fantastic, comfy, handled everything very well, luggage was actually well sorted as I've got a small rack on the back, fuel wasn't a problem, honestly I can't think of anything I would change, maybe a bigger tank would be better but it didn't really bother me. Oh, a drinks holder!!!! I think I needed more fluid than the bike as it was so hot!
Get a Camelbak. It'll have space for a few little bits and the 2l of water on your back is hardly noticable. I'm guilty of not stopping or taking on enough water when touring, but the camelbak lets you take a drink when riding or stopped at lights/junctions etc.Did loads of cols, Columbier, cornet du rose land, Iseran, cenis, Izoard, cayolle, gorge du dalius , Verdon, route napolean, col du vence etc

If anyone is going to the alps soon, make sure you do the col du izoard from north to south, the re surfaced it, its smooth as silk all the way to the top
I'm doing it in a few weeks, on a bicycle. It's on the Tour de France route this year and that tends to spur them into a bit of long overdue resurfacing.jamiebae said:

We went to loads of places where the Tour is going through, you can tell immediately as new tarmac, Loads of flowers and freshly cut grass, and everything has been painted!Gunk said:
NiceWhat year is it? 1996/7?
I almost bought one of these new but then Kawasaki offered me capped Fcomp insurance of £275 and 0% on a brand new ZX6R
I ended up eventually owning the last proper CBR600F a 2003 Fi model import from Germany bought off a mate in 2006.

I've not been out on the bike this week, as it's waiting for its first service, booked in next week, and its been raining. I did tidy up the mirror mounts with the bar end mirrors fitted and fit some pimp red paddock stand bobbins while waiting.
Nice...did the bar end kit come with a replacement bar clamp to get rid of the ugly threaded part for the OE mirror?Had some recent fuel starvation issues, which the first time it happened I thought it was going to nip up on me, turns out it was a non Gen fuel cap not venting properly, thought I'd fit some clear float bowls, so in future if anything else happens, I can look down and check that at least is not the issue.

Unfortunately not, the kit only comes with a bung to fill the thread left by the mirror.garylythgoe said:

I went through the Triumph spares catalogue to find them. Part numbers are T2046510 for the clutch side, and T2024826 for the brake side, they are the parts from a speed triple, which comes with bar end mirrors as standard. The street triple RS has slightly different colour clamps.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
