I feel like the company retard when I say "dinner" at midday.

Most of our staff are Suff'ners/potential deportee Euro staff, already think saying "Ay-Up", as a greeting to my Northern colleagues, is some sort of inside joke.

It's weird, Scottish colloquialisms are considered "quirky", Northern English colloquialisms tend to make people think you're some sort of coal mining retard.

I an a none conformist, I refuse too be just a number, I am an individual set adrift in a sea of drowning sheep.

Had the old mismatched, squared off tyres on my Bandit, replaced with a pair of Battlax BT021s.

Not done many miles on them yet, but the difference in feel is massive, I feel far more confident on the bike now.

Tyre wear creeps up on you, and you don't realise you're riding a bike that feels horrible. Then suddenly you get a new set and it's like a new bike! :-)

I've learned the secret to success is pretending to be normal.

Saying "dinner" doesn't cut it.

Real success doesn't happen by being "normal".

Anyway, I don't care, I'll still call my early afternoon meal dinner.

See - I'll say lunch, but my evening meal is always my 'tea'. Dinner isn't really used.

I guess that's what happens when you're born in Derbyshire, and move darn sarf.

Too right!

I don't recall too many lunch ladies during my informative years at school.

Always school dinners and dinner ladies and dinner break even down south when I was a kid at school - but Lunch outside of that in the adult work related world down south wink

I have a Scottish mate that always says tea when I'd call it dinner.. but then he means it (poshers and their afternoon high tea at 4pm?) only person living in the south that has their tea extremely early i.e. before 6pm so he's then got time for supper later lol Is this an Aberdeen thing (where he's from) for our Scottish brethren here on BB? wink

We can hit everyone here with one simple variation in terms of eating time LOL

A fair proportion of my dinner ladies and teachers were adults.

I'm guessing one was a suvv'ner too - sounded strange anyway.
