Still go the blade then Pete?
Good idea from Moto_traxport - might whack a strontium compound in the tank to see if they go red!

Pm, popped up to a dealer who had Mr Schwantz doing another meet n greet, he was rather smitten with my friends RGV...
Was an eye opener listing to him talk about his rivals from back in the day...and how much he does/doesnt get on with them nowadays, his comparison between a superbike and a MotoGP bike was also very interesting, he never hit 200MPH when he was racing but hit 205 straight away on a MotoGP bike a couple of years ago within a couple of laps and said it was so easy to ride with all the electronics.
Matt Oz Suzuki GSXR 1000 8hr Suzuka replica to the right in that picture. Fantastic! I had seen that he was doing some promotional stuff with Suzuki over the last few days. Great that you got to meet him. He's my motorcycling hero. Such a great racer, always willing to race hard and slug it out. Top guy. Best wheelie bike so far?,,,,
Not sure, its hard to remember, bikes from my past that spring too mind are (in order) RD 400, KTM 640 lc4, 09 R1 then the MT 10.The MT10 wheelies when you dont want it too with the TC turned off or right down or it bogs when the TC is on which slows you down.
I'm not complaining though.

170 mile run today, probably the best ride I have had all year, i have not seen the roads this quiet for years. 2700 miles on this bike and i think i have only just started to learn how to get the best from it. Love it !
I'm finding the same with mine. More I ride it the better I find it. First 500 miles I was real 50/50Great bike you got btw
I was having a tussle with 2 unknown 1290 riders a couple of months back and one of them crashed hurting himself quite badly, thankfully he's on the mend now.
Oh, happy riding.

I can tell by that comment that you ride like my lot...The MT10 wheelies when you dont want it too with the TC turned off or right down or it bogs when the TC is on which slows you down.

They are quite an agricultural bike. The one guy we ride with who is mid inters track dayer on his S1000RR has a superduke for the road. His is the last of the Euro 3 and on a couple occasions its looked like the bike has run away from himI was having a tussle with 2 unknown 1290 riders a couple of months back and one of them crashed hurting himself quite badly, thankfully he's on the mend now.

I look at them as Yank muscle cars. Bloody quick, they handle ok, but remember what you are in
Did the 4 local passes today, Honister, Hardknott, Wrynose and Kirkstone, I forgot how difficult Hardknott is, I wouldn't fancy it on a sports bike with no steering lock
Near Eskdale with a friendly dog
Bottom of Hardknott
In a forest on the far side of Coniston
A waterfall on Hardknott

They are bloody quick bikes though

Interesting and sobering thoughts there. If you try and ride this bike like an inline 4 jap bike it will bite, it can push you wide on fast sweepers and it will shake fook out the bars under hard acceleration. I have stiffened it up from stock and moved the bars forward to gain extra weight on the front. It will also over power the anti wheelie in 3rd and 4th with the tc on if you give it a big handful. I never run it without traction control there's too much torque and one day it will bite. All of the above is probably why its taken me so long to learn how to ride this bike at a decent rate and probably the reason I have used it more than any other bike I have owned in the last 4 years,

Made the most of this weather and took the KR1 out for a blast today, was contemplating selling it as im only getting to use it 2-3 times a year but then I get out on it and it puts such a smile on my face, I backtrack on that thought pretty quickly..
Drop me a PM if you fancy moving it on.Identical to my first one (my first big bike after the RG125 and TZR125's) that I subsequently wrote off into a telegraph pole on the way home from Box Hill. Got a lift from mate on his GPX750 and we ploughed into an RD500 in Old Windsor. 2 hours and 3 written off bikes - happy days!
I owned a red KR-1 and then a KR1-S afterwards - lovely things.
A mate's got a KR-1S and seems to enjoy wazzing around on it more than his multitude of 998, SPS, R71, ZXR-R, Harley Ultrathing etc, must blag a go before the winter sets in.
Edit. Are those KR-1S exhausts? Memory serves the earlier bike originally had fatter all-black stingers?

Yes, the pipes I have on at the moment are KR1S pipes with Lomas end cans, the original black chrome exhausts in decent nick are rare as rocking horse dung ....and are also so quiet , the bike sounds like a moped at tickover...I have them wrapped up safely in the loft but heres a pic with them fitted.
