It's ok. 800% of everyone else who has ever sat on a bike at a show has no intention of buying one.

It's always good to update your files though. After all, what if someone asked you your reasons for not wanting one and then said 'yes, I understand your reasons. However, unless you can tell me how comfortable it was for a very short period of time in totally unrealistic circumstances that are in no way akin to real-world conditions then I'm afraid I'm going to take your kids'? Because if you weren't able to almost sort of explain a bit, then I really feel you'd look quite the fool. QUITE the fool.

My panigale 1199s (which is all but the same thing) is very uncomfortable and I'm 5'9. But thats kindof part of the charm -- it brings you out in a cold sweat even 5 feet away from it.

I thought it was to do with fact I have not ridden a sports bike for years but the CBR600 was very comfortable (yes I realise a CBR 6 and an 1299 are like chalk and something that is not chalk at all). I guess you would get used to it maybe.

However not an issue as my next bike will be about £2,000 and 10 years old lol so I am not Ducati Target Market

I thought the Panigale was quite comfortable other than the too hard seat. Certainly better than Aprilia RF that has your heels pushing against your buttocks and the R1 that is too nose down. I'm 6 foot.

So I went along and throughly enjoyed it. I personally think the bike show is a good idea. I feel rather than have the pressure of a dealer you can go along look at bikes have a sit and get a feel. Without any pressure, sales are happy to talk as they're probably bored and don't mind a good chat. I don't see the problem. It has made me know I want a bike. Seeing all the bike gear and all. Without the bike show chances are for many people riding a bike may be something that simply stays on the back burner.

I sat on all the sports bikes and have to say ducati sport bikes aren't comfy. I am a slim tall lad 6;3 and man my wrists ached from merely sitting on it. Looks alright though.

I went sunday evening about 1430 left as it was closing. It was nice wasn't busy. I managed to get ballpark insurance figures. I would definately go again when I've gotten my license. It will help form my buying decisions.

Interesting to note that when I pointed out 0% apr deals etc many didn't believe me, I had to walk them round to see their owns signs!

Staff should have better knowledge of their stand I feel. I also think riding schools are missing out by not have a larger presence, I am convinced many people would sign up in such shows to learn how to ride a bike.

saw young bored dudes sitting on their laptops at the back. I told them bikes I was into and they gave me some figures. Got it from the company that sponsor BSB. A speed triple would cost me 2k. Lad gave me his details said he would sort me out.

Determining how comfortable a bike is when it's not moving is as useful as assessing how comfy a chair is when it's being thrown around in the back of a delivery lorry.

For example, all that weight your placing on your wrists sitting on a stationary bike in a atypical way? That doesn't apply once you have the wind pressing against you and also you learn to share some of the load/ grip with your knees on the tank.

I don't know why I have to keep explaining this. Why hasn't everyone already apologised to me? I keep hitting refresh. It makes no sense. The extreme pointlessness of these test-sits is simple. It's barely two fold. Firstly, it doesn't matter what you sit on, it's going to feel different to whatever you've previously sat on, and the sum total of those differences will always add up to 'uncomfortable', at least until you stop thinking about it and become comfortable, just as the previous everything ever you've ever sat on, including every bike you've ever owned previously.

Secondly, if you want/ like something enough, your mind will naturally eclipse the discomfort in favour of all the other things you like more, and if it can't do that every single aspect of every bike in the world is adjustable.

Being for or against any bike because it 'didn't feel comfy' in a momentary test in different clothes than you'd normally ride in non-real world conditions is as arbritary as saying 'it's not the bike' for you because the one you sat on was red and you want a white one and even though there was a white one next to you you didn't sit on the white one and therefore you have all the data you need.

I'm going to start making a list of people who I think need a sternly worded letter, I think. I'd have done it sooner, but when I went to pick up a pack of envelopes at the shop, I didn't like how far I had to reach up to get them off the shelf so I'm pretty sure they won't work as envelopes.

I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

Apologies for the delay in replying, I was just down at Dreams (or regional equivalent) attempting to get a full nights sleep in less than 10 seconds in all of their beds simultaneously, whilst wearing my leathers, gloves, boots and lid (with dark visor, obviously- I'm trying to sleep and I'm not an idiot).

I'm really disappointed in how uncomfortable they are. Don't think they're the beds for me, to be honest. I'm going to go and post this in the 'Mattress Matters' section right now. At least those people appreciate me.
