On the M4 today into London, traffic is moving but a bit slow, so I am making progress, quicker biker comes up behind me so I let him through and then follow him for a bit and we both come up to a fully geared up 'Polite' vest biker, even his helmet which was white, had a black and white squares band round it to make him look even more like a police rider, paniers as well, so his bike is the size of a small car and he is a making virtually no progress filtering but he just won't let us past, guy in front on me was getting very pissed off with him.

Eventually we get past by filtering between 1 & 2 rather than 2 & 3.
Was this me? Red CB 500x with top box and stickers on?

Had a couple very slow filterers this morning but a couple of short toots to let them know I was there and a thank you when passing looks to be the solution.

They have every right to be in the filtering path but when they are wobbling all over the place holding a string of bikers up they should really move over.

Also had some woman doing her make up in slow moving traffic on the M4 come straight into my filtering path. Very nearly hitting me. Mascara in the vanity mirror, unbe-fking-lievable
Bike did have a topbox, did you leave the M4 at Maidenhead?

Na came all the way into London, wasn't me. I did have a 1299 and a VFR move over for me this morning who likely witnessed my annoyance with another separate polite vested moron!

Seems to be the perfect time of year for commuting (well down south anyway) - dry, warm but not too hot, decent sunlight each way. Today's commutes were an absolute pleasure.

I dont look forward to the warmer weather, too many bikers come out for the commute who are not used to filtering on the M25 and get in my way

On the weather thing I'm finding the evenings coming home lovely but the mornings are still pretty chilly!

Took the heated grips off a month or so ago and now regretting it - the metal in a finger seems to attract the cold and make my hand feel weird!

Warm? It was 2 degrees when I left home this morning! yikes (At least that's +2 as opposed to the -1 yesterday!)

Commute was fine.

Getting ran over by an unmanned VW Crafter at the petrol station because the driver had left his handbrake off wasn't great

Seriously WTF is with the weather this year? It's May FFS, it should be warmish and sunny. This is March weather....

It is not normally worth mentioning my 7 min commute, but today there was a right plank on the roads.

Red Astra VXR ( well it had the badge on the back) with i'm speeding cos i need a poo stickers, wheel spinning out of junctions, bouncing off the limiter, he then proceeded to drive thru 30's whilst bouncing off the limiter ( in neutral) and making the car pop and bang ( why?) then hits the queue of traffic and proceeds to put his right indicator on as a threat to me. What an absolute cock, the girlfriend in the car is doomed! His face as i passed was a picture, a cross between sad and angry....i just gave him a big laugh!

Probably dropping her off at CRC, the home of badly modified Vauxhalls. Mind you, if you can do your commute from the village in 7 mins at anything other than 3am you're a braver man than me! winkthumbup

This morning's wake up call was spinning up the rear on a white line while going round a roundabout. Got too used to the constantly dry roads over the last few weeks!

Riding home was a bit scary - the earlier rain had seemingly washed a load of bits & pieces from the various blossoming trees/bushes onto the road surface. Cars had made tyre tracks, but in between, there was a line of very slippery st, especially on the back lanes. I spun up multiple times & nearly lost it around a couple of corners.

You also have to consider no rain for a while always adds to the lack of grip once it does rain for that first time again too besides any visible rubbish in the road.

I worked from home yesterday so missed the rain by luck only.

Two (minor) highlights this morning:

1. Trying to get past the plod car on the M11. I was sitting at 72mph and he was doing 70mph but every time I caught him up he speeded up to about 74mph. It took me miles to get past him but I managed to read the traffic ahead better than him and so chose the right lane sooner.

2. Watching the chap on the old Yam XJ900 try to out muscle the black Hyundai I30 through the traffic. The XJ900 rider had obviously not spotted the subtle blue flashing lights and the siren!

Not a bad run in for me beyond the rain earlier, not to heavy thankfully.

Biggest issue was the L-Plate wobbler, overtake them only to have them pull around you to sit directly in front, at the front of each cycle box meaning you were constantly having to re-pass the bloke as he wobbled back up toward 30mph.

When will they (ad deliveroo moped riders) realise that if you're passed to wait behind, and behind the actual stop line at that!

Well, the dry period couldn't last forever. Back to drizzle & slippery muck on the roads for this week it seems.

Touch wood in the mornings I have never had the police pull me over doing 80mph or undertaking tts in the outside lane with two clear lanes inside.

I like to think that in the early mornings or if another motorist is driving like a tit they give a bit of a blind eye to some of it.

I was not expecting to get pulled over for anything up to 80mph but didn't quite have the courage to test out the theory. Perhaps next time!
