Oh yes. Nearly forgot.

Chappy on his Panigale this morning in white shirt, suit trousers, office shoes. And a rucksack which presumably could have carried those items whilst you wore something more appropriate. You don't look cool. Not even slightly. A bit nobby, to be honest.

Each to their own, I guess.

Vauxhall Mokka refusing to move into lane 1. It made me sad.

All I will say is that some people really can't filter, I am by no means any sort of riding god, but there were gaps you could get a bus through this morning and this guy was hanging back, hesitating, beeping his horn at cars to get them to move out the way. Even when the cars did move for him there was no acknowledgement.

All good fun.

Ah, well it must be the new orange/black/whatever. Mr Blackbird was repeatedly doing this on Commercial Road this morning.

AAAAARGH.

OK, I get it. Not everyone is a filtering god. Even I wink have to slow down occasionally.

But if you can't filter. get out of the way.

If someone beeps their horn at you a few times politely, get out of the way.

if someone beeps their horn at you a few more times, look in your mirrors, have a quick count of how many bikes are being held behind you, and get out of the way.

If someone behind you sounds their horn constantly, THEY PROBABLY WANT YOU TO GET OUT OF THE FIRKIN WAY.

Don't just wibble along blocking everyone. Don't stop and put your feet down when there's a gap which a Smart car would fly through. And lastly, next time don't buy another bloody GS which you can't manage.

Mornin' all! biggrin

PS. Yes, this is my WEDNESDAY update. Unbelievably, as I caught up to the stationary traffic on the Blackwall Approach, there he was again, looming large in my visor. After we'd paddled our way past three vehicles, and knowing he wasn't ever going to get out of the way, I ducked between lanes 1 & 2 (don't like being there, they're not looking for bikes) and after passing a small handful of vehicles I was able to nip back out into lane 2/3. He hadn't caught up. So, if you ride a 63 plate GS, with a black lid and full BMW Touring kit, and your name is Charlie Proper, PLEASE move over next time!

I commute on a GS, and can understand your frustration. Most of my commute is wide motorway/dual carriage but even I move over If I see a bike catching up, which isn't often....

To put it all in (frustrating!) context, I commute on a 1200RT! I reckon I was in the tunnel before he'd passed another 6 cars...

Today's was being a mobile roadblock myself...

Three Mile Hill in Chelmsford was stationary, filtering up the middle all happy, then what must have been some genetically-modified super pollen defeated all the cocktail of hayfever pills i'm ingesting daily and proceeded to not only reduce my vision to a watery blur but gave me that 'edge of sneezing' feeling.

Wobbled on for a bit until I managed to find a gap to pull into to let the bikes behind me pass and sort myself out.

(At least I managed to catch them back up a bit to at least restore some semblance of pride...)

Classic this morning - filtering along the A20 up to the lights at 5 ways, Mottingham when the cyclist in front of me took out his phone out and took a selfie whilst moving (good skills, I'm probably in it aswell) - the car that was next to him when he did this was a plain police car (silver Mondeo) sat in traffic waiting to turn right so on came the blues & two's, he managed to get through the traffic and pulled the cyclist over.

What do we reckon? Any penalty for the cyclist?

Saw a Honda Grom rider on his arris this morning. No other car around so at a wild guess tried turning right a little too quickly for his little wheels to cope with.

I did notice though his leg was a little pink. Maybe down to wearing shorts. Also noticed no gloves and no socks under his trainers. I'm not one to normally call out peoples attire when riding a bike but sometimes it's just not cool to try and be cool !!

Fortunately he came off opposite the hospital entrance
I'm the same people can wear what they want when riding but I personally do wince at the lack of gloves.. SV extra loud exhausts just observed on my lunch break jeans and t-shirt, NO gloves.. throttling off up to the lights both hands off the bars and coasting - so also yes WTF is it with the hands off the bars I'm too cool for school brigade coasting??? It only takes a special minicab move to spoil things.
It's fun!!! I expect HIM to be a grumpy old fker...

Got back to my bike today and saw that it was on the side stand not the centrestand. I then spotted the note. And then the dent in the tank...

Insurance is underway. What a ballache but a massive thank you to the BMW rider (William) who was kind enough to write the note and be a witness. Top bloke - thank you.

Traffic going home was ridiculous!

Sat in new cross for a good 10 minutes unable to filter through. Although other bikes took to the pavement, conscious of what happened to another PH'er I sure as hell wasnt!

Keithton - every time you have a crap commute, I have a good one and vice versa.

Lovely run back to Beckenham tonight - left Euston at 5:50 and in Beckenham watching my lad doing his tennis group lesson by 6:40. No traffic down Park Lane, not much around Victoria. Nothing over Vauxhall Bridge and even Brixton was pretty clear.

Worst bit is Penge High Street - all the car drivers seem to have a problem with a bike filtering past them and actively try and block you off. Rarely works though and I am old enough and calm enough to chill and laugh at them now!

Anyway, let's hope tomorrow is good

What time was that? I went past about 6.45, nothing there then.

I do think (but don't take for granted!) that on Commercial Rd in particular, most drivers seem to be quite careful about turning left across the bus/bike lane.

I don't commute very often but had to go round the m25 today for a client meeting so decided to take the bike.

The one highlight that really stands out was a blue 206 in the outside lane doing 10mph swerving at me from the right as I was filtering past... I looked over to see if I'd missed him indicating and found a guy with his t shirt half over his head!!

He'd clearly decided to make the most of the sunshine and work on his tan in the traffic jam ... utter, utter muppet

My lowlight yesterday, guy in my team came off his tiger 800 on the way into the office he comes in from E17 to central London. Seems it just went from under him on a corner without warning luckily no cars involved or following him when it happened. Bike wasn't rideable and his left ribs seemingly took the brunt of the fall but he seemed ok apart from that - he was instructed to goto a&e or see his GP when he showed up at the office after using the tube in the afternoon.
I asked what happened was there anything on the road he wasn't sure however he said he noticed a screw in the rear tyre as the bike was being recovered, but he was convinced the pressure was fine but he hadn't checked it. Suffice to say I'm personally convinced that was the issue even if he isn't.

There had been an accident or incident at Deptford bridge and the whole junction was closed off, was a bit of a pain. I went off via Lee Green.
