Todays highlight riding in and riding home - Work Meh !
I had pretty much the same thought just before I left home this morning!Ride in was uneventful, very quiet in places but I was later than usual. Had to detour for the Kidbrooke Park Rd closure, the A2 was a pain all the way from Crayford, but then the A102 was clear almost to the tunnel

Nice and cool this morning sporting my new Held predominantly mesh jacket procured last week having boiled in my A* even with all the liners removed.
Got a link to that jacket?http://www.getgeared.co.uk/held_motorcycle_jacket_...
Edited to add that I also secured a good size back protector to go in it as it comes with nowt.
Highlight suspiciously empty roads by the limehouse link this morning as I corrected my speed (down from 40) at the tunnel entrance camera where it changes to 30 just before and to ensure I don't trigger the camera I am was bang on 30 at the right time. Queue Mr Megane who I'd passed moments earlier (dawdling in the outside lane) sailing past me having not made any attempt to adjust his speed and he was greeted with a nice double flash doing some 35ish he seemed to have sped up as he wanted to repass me I think. I did laugh to myself since I wasn't slowing down for fun mate lol
Second highlight beside being once again held up by the summer biking lot (thinner this morning) chuckling at some of their inappropriate bike wear given the rain that is now chucking it down outside - clearly some people despite living in the UK fail to look at the weather

Had one of these this morning in New Cross, gap to get a GS through, let alone his thruxton....thankfully he did move over after about 10 seconds of crawling and a couple of small blips, benefits of a CBR 600 though, big enough for your shoulders, big enough for the bike kiethton said:

CBR600 is a perfect commuting bike I owned a 2003 F4i for around 2 years around 2006. Only reason I changed I upgraded to its big brother the Blackbird Just very cautiously rode home after low siding on a small town roundabout at about 10-15mph, it wasn't a particularly sharp turn but the front gave way on the wet roads, maxxis magsport stock tyres may be to blame but I don't know.
Luckily had full textile kit on, which has a slight abrasion mark on the trousers, jacket no marks and helmet didn't touch the road
Bike is surprisingly unscathed I expected a mess when i lifted it up, the only damage is road rash on the exhaust guard, rash on the lever nub end and bent brake lever that's it
I on the other hand have a nice bump on my upper right leg which will probably bruise
Bikes in the garage not going to look tonight just going to get a brew on and try and act normal when the missus gets home, she already doesn't like bikes

Nightmare, hope it's not too painful come the morningLuckily had full textile kit on, which has a slight abrasion mark on the trousers, jacket no marks and helmet didn't touch the road

Conscious to take it very easy this evening, roads are normally a nightmare the first time after some rain (when it hasn't done it for a while)

Last nights journey home was made miserable by Peter Perfect Policeman on his belt driven BM. He spent approx. 2 miles constantly looking in his mirrors to make sure the 3 bikes he was holding up didn't break the law. Had he have taken a little more notice on what was happening ahead he could have had 2 mobile phone users and he would have seen the gap on the inside of the traffic rather than getting boxed in by a lorry.
This morning seemed that a lot of bike riders left their heads at home. Both big bikes and shyty scooters alike appeared to freeze the moment a filtering opportunity arose. It was painful !!

Got bibbed by a British Transport Police tranny for daring to overtake it this morning, reminded me when I had the same from a BTP Astra a few years back after passing at a GPS 70 on the motorway, he couldn't grasp it and kept bibbing me and overtaking/waving a slow down sign at me....I swear BTP police are by far the worst when it comes to this

Just for a bit of balance: Monday night, I hit the M20 only for the matrix signs to say long delays J2-J3. Sure enough it all started snarling up around Brands, so I decided to take J2 and use the A20.This morning seemed that a lot of bike riders left their heads at home. Both big bikes and shyty scooters alike appeared to freeze the moment a filtering opportunity arose. It was painful !!
As I came up to the roundabout at the top of the slip road, Bike Bib appeared from the Brands direction, pulled on to the roundabout in front of me, so I followed him onto Wrotham Hill, wondering how my filtering intentions would be affected. He was just riding, no blues & twos.
Top of the hill there are solid double whites, which he observed although he did cut past a couple of cars which moved over for him, but staying inside the lines. Once the double solids ended, we were off! He was happily filtering/overtaking, albeit sensibly and cautiously, so I just matched his moves. This carried on all the way down, past the Oakdene and along the A20 until he pulled into Parkfoot petrol station. Nice and steady, no dramas but certainly "making progress". No comments or actions towards me from the BiB at all. Maybe that was because we were riding matching bikes
