Friday morning highlight almost no traffic (comparatively to normal) on some of my route. Still plenty of highway filtering up to the Tower of London - Rest complete breeze with empty roads.
Lowlight once again stuck behind a wobbly can't filterer on a proper commuter bike with a 55litre shad top box the whole way through the limehouse link, despite seeing me and plenty of options flatly refused to move over but would quite happily stop, block with a tank sized gap in front and make me and another scooter behind me wait. Ended up having to use the space this guy wouldn't go for and force the issue cos he was so timid to get round him.

I know it's wrong but filtering past all those poor drivers caught up in the M20 closure this morning for mile after mile bought a smile to my face.

Also stopped and helped a Spanish couple on a BM touring thing as they were completely lost. They were trying to find Yeovil tongue out
Not wrong to smile, they laugh at you when it's pissing down with rain!

I was always under the impression that if it's just a policeman with a gun if they want to do you they'll come and stop you....camera van is another story however.

Variation I believe. I have seen coppers set up with tripod's (bike coppers) who have ticketed through the post.

Bloody.

Wobbling.

Can't-filterers.

Just get out of the way. That is all.
This.

M6 was stationary from Walsall to Birmingham and ended up at the back of a queue of 6 bikes following a 5mph wobbler who simply refused to let anyone past him. Had to jump over to between lane 1&2 to get past the line before moving back.
Exactly the problem that I had on my way home yesterday.

A tt on a big silver touring bike just had to get past me as the A41 goes from Finchley Rd to Hendon Way, then stopped at the gap between lanes 2 & 3, unable to proceed any further.

It wouldn't have been so bad but he knew I was quicker though traffic and that he couldn't progress, yet still rode right up to the gap so I couldn't pass.

I nipped past between 1 & 2, so no big delay.

Another who should leave the bike and attitude at home.

I decided to take advantage of the nice weather & took the scenic route home yesterday after work. I got to a set of lights & filtered to the front of the queue. Then I heard a growling noise & a GSXR1000 pulled up behind me. On green, I caned it off the line. Nice straight road for 1/2 mile before the first corner, where he shot past me. However, round the S bends I was having to slow down because he was backing off so much. I came very close to running into him! He had all the correct ninja outfit & carbon lid etc., I was amazed I could keep up with him & out-corner him on a KTM 690 Enduro R with semi-knobbly tyres!!
I thought pretty much any sportsbike would be able to mug me both on the straights & definitely the corners. I must be some kind of riding god....

Well I'm out on the piss tonight so set an early alarm (45 earlier than normal to get a train!)....however my snooze button pressing finger had other idea's so i was up at the normal time....

Decided to take the bike (only way to get to work on time) but also took the chain to go on in addition to the disc lock, chained it up outside the entrance to the bloomberg building as I have a feeling it'll be staying here tonight!

Thing is getting up early tomorrow to get the train, now likely with a stinking hangover will not be at all pleasant!

Pulled in to the office car park this morning with a very hot smelling bike that took a bit more effort than usual to reverse back into the bay. Didn't have a lot of time to investigate but I'm guessing the back brake has been binding. I've got a spare pair of pads at home, gives me something to do this weekend.

This morning's highlight was getting punted off by an old boy in his Focus who thought he didn't need to stop if I was already on the roundabout. He hit the back end of my Ducati and I was spun straight down on the road.
It was near the Asda in Harrogate only 150 yds from work. Many thanks to the good people who stopped to help, call an ambulance and the guy who pushed my bike to the works car park. Apparently my Multistrada is easier to push the his Katana.
Lots of big bruises coming up and I'm a bit sore, as you get older you don't seem to bounce as easily.
Anybody know how well a single sided swinging arm reacts to such a hit?

Ouch frown

Hope that you're not too beaten up and glad to hear that people stopped and helped! - may have said but a few years back with my dad lying unconscious on Loampit vale after being knocked off, apparently all he had were 10's of people videoing him!

Hope you can get some witness details too, every little helps!

Hate to say it but given my recent experiences (and likely Cappo's) the bike will be written off for almost any damage, can't comment on swing-arm specifics but if anything more than a gentle tap I'd be wanting it specially measured & X-rayed before being re-used.

Hope you're ok and also that you get your bike sorted out.
There is a mini roundabout near where I live where I get your old boy's behaviour almost every other day. I'm turning right so 2nd exit and the number of times cars have failed to plan ahead who want to effectively come straight over and fail to stop to give way to me is unbelieveable - not been hit yet but some close ones. Even one woman recently who noticed me having missed her give way line and then started to drive towards me again like I had to give way to her. General standard of driving in London is p*ss poor anyway so I kinda expect this to happen but still seems on average people really struggle in my area with how roundabouts seems to work. The only solution which will f**k everything up is that people can't be trusted and they put traffic lights in which just causes delays and further queues frown

What do you ride, Drewbs? I'm on that section most days (J11-J6 and back) on a red Tiger Sport with a tail pack. Try and keep up when I pass you! I live in Cheslyn Hay if you fancy a run out one weekend/evening.

Rain will likley be the highlight home and all those 'summer' bikers I saw this morning who don't have waterproofs with them. I donned full gortex kit this morning accordingly - we just had seriously heavy rain while I was out of the office for lunch here in central london.

As they'll mostly have trendy open face lids you'll get the full effect of their drowned rat beardage! excellent.

I don't like the way the bike is leaking a small amount of fuel, it's a Multistrada 1000ds and the tank unit can be prone to problems. As it was being loaded onto the recovery truck (gear lever snapped) the postman intorduced himself and said where to take for estimates/ repairs as he's on his third Ducati.
I've got a flipping great big bruise on my left hip.

It's amazing how many people only believe in using the centre part of their tyres and the first couple of thousand rpm of the rev range smile
