Damp last night! The further into Kent I got, the more torrential the rain was.

On a different note: what's going on with all the cars and vans sitting/hogging over the white lines? Seems to have become a real issue in the past week or so, vehicles everywhere sitting with one or other side right on the line which knackers filtering. Literally dozens, every day, at present confused

My highlight almost being taken out by a smart car turning right but the driver only looking left and assuming because none of the 4 wheeled traffic is moving that its safe to go. Was close but adding gas sorted it out smile I'll chalk that one up to be super wary of - 100% not my fault but one I need to look out for to prevent happening again. Some drivers really do pull some random s**t in London.
Personally turning right across two solid lanes of traffic at the BP Garage on the highway in the morning is never going to be an easy let alone clever move - what I don't understand is a few hundred yards down is a an Esso garage on the correct side of the road the Smart car was crossing our lanes to join its kinda willing the normal driver to fill up in the direction of travel but then I'm probably thinking too logically.

Didn't see a single other biker this morning - must have been the rain!

I was out in the 4 wheels last night and it was like a monsoon! Most of the roads flooded, a car even lost control on the A10 and ended up facing the wrong way with a rather knackered front end after hitting the central reservation.

What a weird morning... Totally rammed on the local high street and then A3 completely clear; West Hill totally clear (11 or so cars!!!! WTF?? Never seen that before), sailed through green lights all through Wandsworth to the second lights on York Road. In fact pretty much all the way to canary wharf..... Relatively few summer wobblers, although one really funny one holding up a line or bikes when her filtering gap was literally about 1.5m (easily enough room to just whoosh past her so they must all have been wobblers to not take the opportunity)

And then half the office isn't in...

Is there something going on that I've missed?

Very soggy run home last night, my gear really is not up to that much rain, however run in this morning was nice, damp / drying roads but not too much traffic.

Speaking of open face lids and that look..I saw a Ducati scrambler parked in one of the bays near covent garden at lunch time with a proper branded elasticated seat rain cover on it LOL FFS!
The only scrambling they'll ever do is for the last piece of artisanal oatcake at the deli next to their local haribo/porridge outlet!

Wasn't raining when I left this morning but it caught me part way to work, I stupidly left me shoulder vents open but by the time I noticed it was already too late so I have been sat in the office slowly drying out at least it supposed to be dry for the ride home though

Where are you coming from and what do you ride?

If its Weybridge, the high street was rammed because the hospital burned down last night.

Pull up at traffic lights and he makes some st remark - I reply, see that L is that for Loser, no wonder your a learner

He replies suck my d888 bh

My retort smiling - if your cock is as big as your engine - tiny - no thanks

The highlight this morning was avoiding the dhead coming the wrong way along the one way Victoria Park Road. My full beam HIDs did bring him to a stop and allow me to suggest he turn around!

Have they all skived off for the tennis or the F1 Live event? F1 event is near my office (well over the river) at Trafalgar Square

Commute home last night was a pain, an accident some 20 something miles up the motorway/dual carriage led to very slow traffic and 1 in 3 people on their phones texting to tell whoever they are stuck in traffic/google mapping an alternative/facebooking/whatever.
Lot's of vans and cars basically on the central white line.

Basically I had a hot and sweaty 20 something mile filter commute home, after the gym, to then be told the other half didn't fancy a few cheeky ones in the local pub garden. SIGH.

Anyway, this morning was fine, nice and sunny. I feel I could do with a tinted visor on my helmet, I have a drop down sun shield but it just isn't enough. £40-£50 though....

Stop messing about and just pull the trigger on a proper tinted visor. They're awesome sauce and you won't regret it.

LCD visors are the way forward these days wink I love mine, turn the tint on or off at a whim.

Commute was uneventful, got home and lubed chain, decided to clean wheels and some bits and bobs...for some reason flicked side stand up while bike on paddock stand (single sided jobby) then lifted bike onto its wheels and tipped it towards the side stand I'd just stowed...AAARRGGGHHH!!! Managed to hold it, but then nearly dropped it on the other side overcompensating!

Shoulders a bit stiff this morning!

Oh I know that, but I ruined my 4 week old Shoei NXR with a lovely dark visor as I bounced and then dragged my head along the floor at 90mph in Spain a few months ago.

Pennies are being put back into the pot to replace that - hence the £50 is a bit steep at the moment

After a good 2 weeks of not much happening last night was a little more "interesting".

First one was down on the OKR, heading out of town near the Millwall ground a taxi decides to change lanes (out of the right turn lane to try and go straight) only he hasn't left me enough room.....whilst not quite an emergency stop it wasn't exactly brilliant. Typically I'm then next to him open windowed at the next lights. I ask if he uses mirrors as he's just nearly taken me out.....I'm then told it must have been my fault as I must have been speeding.....refused to get myself worked up and carried on with my way home. Long live Uber!

Then, just outside home there is an old boy driving his Saab 9-5 estate, boot fully open and dropping stuff all over the road. Decided to carry on and try to get him to stop. 1/2 mile later after I pull up at his window to a defensive/aggressive look he finally realised what was up (literally) and thanked me.

Very uneventful first week commute on my first big bike. Traffic has been the best I've seen it since working in Manchester. Left work late on Monday (17:00), expected crazy traffic. Disappointingly there was no filtering whatsoever, even went through 5 sets of lights on Princess Road with nothing in front of me and all on green. Unacceptable!

Other than that, had a couple of cars cut me up. Had to slam on the brakes a few times but it's only made me realise they're jerking/juddering whilst braking. Tried to clean out the bobbins but they're a tad stuck, so much so they broke the meaty nut & bolt. This weekends job I suppose.

In other news, there has been a few deaths in the past week or so around my area. Not sure if bikes just get more puplicity regarding this but it's been regular enough for the wife to start stressing (again). Be safe out there!

Very nice Friday morning commute today - not too much traffic and nobody did anything too stupid apart from the cyclist with his earphones in who decided to cut across three lanes of traffic at Marble Arch without even looking. He then sat directly in front of me in the middle of the lane and looked stroppy when I zipped past....he was nearly hit by three cars and me and was completely oblivious. Darwin Awards sprang to mind.

Just the A40/M40 run to look forward to tonight....

Well was expecting a good Friday morning commute but was greeted literally after stepping outside to unlock the bike with a heavy rain shower. No issues for me since I was in full gortex kit.

Highlight all the summer riders caught out without proper kit and those riders I've seen regularly that fall to piece with a bit of rain LOL

Mr billy big boll*x on the blue blackbird with the topbox for instance.. riding in normal probably nicely damp jeans this morning. In the hot dry weather he simply has to keep in front of me and cains it off the line and filters like me - fine mate if you want to ride faster do it, so when I see him I just let him go.. I had a blackbird they are much quick than a Speed Triple past a certain point. Today caught him up which was in itself strange but then I realised he's complete and utter sh*te in the rain/damp conditions LOL Wouldn't take clear gaps for filtering, him having blasted off the line as is usual from Tower bridge lights (and me letting him get on with it) we come to the nice empty open sweeping 2 lane road past tower hill to lower thames street he completely bottled it throttled off and sat the bike up when it was just damp on the ground so I carried on just passed him around the outside - zero need to alter riding from normal. No posing today then mate eh? wink
