Bad times for what appeared to be a Z1000 on Lower Thames Street this morning. Bike was on the pavement on its side about 30 metres beyond a car that was missing a good section of its front corner. Complete conjecture but I would say the car moved across from the left and clipped the bike as it went by on the right, possibly a bit quick. Dramatic looking aftermath though.

Assuming that was East bound based on the route I remember you do? Can only say if it was on that narrow single lane bit heading East it was only gonna be a matter of time given how p*ss poorly it was designed. For me that takes the mantle from the M4 bus lane of terrible road planning actually getting implemented.

Lower Thames Street West bound had a tipper truck and car interaction in the outside lane just before the speed camera this morning too. Multiple police in attendance and a nice gridlocked traffic trying to negotiate it. Its quite rare to have solid traffic past the tower of london/hung drawn and quartered pub now with the Tower Bridge traffic light timings

Had to get the train in today...

Bike conked out last week, fitted a new battery, ordered a new rectifier but all seemed good with just the battery so 1 week later, outside lane of the M20 - BANG! out of the exhaust and no power, pulled over to the hard shoulder - called for recovery & remembered I had the rectifier I ordered in my bag so stripped the bike down on the hard shoulder with the Honda tool kit, fitted the rectifier, all back together, bumped it and got it running & then recovery turned up laugh

We done some quick tests on the bike, battery isn't getting any charge at all so maybe generator at fault? When I fitted the battery, no charge was happening until around 5k rpm, SOS man said the generator should be charging at less than that - all plugs look ok - I'm crap with electrics, nothing melted or corroded so going to see if my mate can look at it for me if not ask my local bike shop to check it out and order the bits to fix myself.

Was it before or after the speed camera?

I didn't see it going towards Tower Hill; but what I did see was a cyclist not using the super massive wide cycle lane but instead going against the traffic in my lane, straight towards me. Earphones in, the whole works. Honestly what is it with these people?

Heading West bound (double lanes) just before the speed camera on that side of the road. The truck/car were in the outside lane as the road straightens out after the righthand downhill bend past the HDQ pub.

I've seen a number of cyclists refusing to use the segregated super highway on lower thames street - I'm 100% convinced its them just being bloody difficult and they seriously prefer mixing it with the traffic on purpose! I've not seen one heading in the wrong direction though thats a new level of deathwish.

Went past this too this morning on may way to Canary Wharf , thought there was a second bike too.
Didnt look good and the bike all they way down near the old Billingsgate Market
Awful

Elehapnt and castle roundabout seems to be my place for encoutnering pricks this week. Addison "I cant drive for toffee" Lee driver nearly had me off on Monday and the mobile chicane 4x4 who ended up going down the turn off for buses only.

Well I was this mornings commuting lowlight I suspect for a few people heading into London on the A40 through Kings X to Old St.

There are no doubt a few on forums somewhere complaining about the 'all the gear, no idea' Ducati rider who couldn't filter for toffee !!!

In my defence, it's the first time I've brought the new Multistrada 950 into London and its still only got 200 miles on it and its a tad bigger than the Hyperstrada it replaced, I will get my filtering mojo back and I did try and pull in whenever possible to let the quicker riders through so am not aware of any headshakes etc ...... maybe I need to pop an L plate on !!!

Stay safe out there and hope the guy/girl on Lower Thames St is ok ...

Ok same side as me and the tipper truck/car, guessing I didn't see the bike, potentially all connected then.

Sadly, Lord Redmist invaded Cappo's Arai on the way home this evening after some twunt on an unidentified sportsbike put a move on me which would have made MM93 blush. He wound it on and went for a gap which I was already halfway into.

I caught him up and, well, let's just say it wasn't pretty. I'm actually a little too ashamed of myself to go into detail.

Must. Be. More. Zen.

But seriously, why do some bikers think it's OK to put other bikers on offer like that? We all know what it's like out there, no need to make it worse.

Stopped at Leigh Delamere for some petrol and coming back to the bike after paying someone approached me. Half expecting a moan, turns out to be a fellow biker who commented that he'd seen me this morning too and that I must have done some miles. Pleasant surprise!

So i braved it today.... Thurrock to Whitehall in 45mins instead of an hour and half on the trains...

Followed a pretty hot (well she had a lid on but made it look good) on a street triple most of the way in which helped a newbie like me a lot more confident in filtering... I tried to follow all the previous advice on here too... and moved out the way whenever I could to let others pass me...

Apologies to anyone who I held up (I'm on a white/ blue CBR600F with a carbon lid)

Were you holding him up or did he just come out of nowhere?

Get it most days (more on warmer days for some reason) but particularly in the evenings heading east along lower thames street/highway. Some truely twunting aggresive riding from some who'll cut you up over/under take you and everyone else. Most of the time I'll leave them to get on with it/ignore but I might dish it out back if someone really annoyed me which isn't really achieving anything (same redmist unfortunately) other than personal satisfaction and lowering myself to their level with calm reflecting hindsight. Agreed be more Zen lol

Worst one I've had in the past months was a guy on one of those kwak 300cc pretend sports bikes, he was riding in a manner that will get himself killed he had some really really close calls weaving between gaps in moving traffic moving from the middle to the outside, using hatching basically any and all space available which is fine he can kill himself get on with it but when he started cutting me up multiple times when I was easily keeping pace with him without trying I took exception to it and had a word with him at the next lights. I said to him I'm keeping pace with you just fine as my bike is way faster than yours and I'm taking way less risks than you to do so (just riding down the middle of the traffic), ride how you want but don't pull those dangerous moves that cut me up and force me to have to react with no where to go because of your riding. He seemed to eventually get it nodding and we did a fist bump and then the lights went green and we went our separate ways.

Absolutely the latter. I don't generally hold people up and if I do say so myself, I'm pretty handy at filtering. There had been no gap for about 50 yards, a gap opened up and I went for it but he (from behind) decided I wasn't having it. Degree of closeness? Enough for elbows to rub.

Poor guy sprawled on the deck after being taken out by a van at the top of my road in Beckenham, unfortunately looked like the poor sod's leg/foot was pointing in the opposite direction!

Hope all heals up quickly and its nobody off here!
