Seen a deal on the Richa Element textile jacket (with inner removable puffer) intended to be used for the commute - is it any good/worth the £150?

Spend it on your bike, or get a heated under jacket for your existing jacket.

No accidents for two days in a row yaaaaah! smile Relatively light traffic today - this means no queues until past the Wapping junctions on the highway towards tower bridge.
Proper chilly for the first time in a while this morning needed another layer under the jacket this morning.

You must have been ahead of me this morning (think our commutes are similar) as a car into delivery van on the A13 backed everything back through Dagenham

GS rider doing his part for biker-driver diplomatic relations by Rev bombing every driver who hadn’t moved their car over as far as possible, this he couldn’t wobble his GS though. This was then backed up by stopping to stare, once they had moved, through his tinted visor at them, just to hammer home his superiority.

Nice to see one of the John Banks massive on the ride home last night. A red AT looking very nice and sounding better than I expected as we fought our way through the traffic up the Cromwell Road. I was earlier than usual and it reminded me why I don't leave until later - traffic was grim and that's at half-term!

Anyway, hello from the white Crossrunner. wavey

Crazy guy in front of me in a little hatchback swerved almost onto the other side of the road this morning. Couldn't work out why he was driving so crazily, until the fat dead rabbit appeared from underneath the back of his car! I swear it was frozen too as I almost got airborne! biggrin

Mental note; I may have been following a little too closely.

It was cold this morning! 2 degrees when I left home and the max on the journey in was 5.5. Heated grips were on the whole way in.

The nice (if cold) weather means I've delayed the move to the cattle truck train for another week. I'm glad I did. smile

Was 5deg this morning where I live in Zone 2 East London - so kitted up prepared this morning. Only thing I haven't rolled out yet - the heated gloves, it was around cutover temps this morning at around 5, any warmer they are too warm even on min setting - used my summer goretex gloves which were just about ok on the finger tips for a 7mile journey.

Pretty light traffic for a Monday after a half term and not that many other bikers now. My rear PR4 tyre feels really terrible on white lines, banding, uneven surface as its nicely squared off, particularly noticeable for very slow walking pace riding/filtering too - seems to affect my Speed with its fat 190/55 rear tyre even worse than other bikes I've owned before. I may chuck it in early, its already sporting three puncture fixes and has got me to a few hundred off 5k miles. Any reason not to go Roadtec 01?

Not looking forward to the dark commute home but I'm sure by the end of the week I'll be used to it again.

That was seriously cold this morning. Might get my heated jacket wiring and grips plumbed in this weekend!

Steady on man! A tid bit nippy maybe but nothing warranting winter gear!

My previous tyres were Roadtec 01s. They did their first 1000 miles in the South of France where they were better than the PR4s I had before. Turn in was faster and wet grip (very good on the PR4 - and better than me!) was excellent. I happily scrubbed them to the very edge on the superb roads of Provence.

Upon returning to commuting duties, the 01's were all over the place on white lines. They had 1000 miles on them and were noticeably worse than the PR4s they'd replaced with over 7000 miles on. Being tight I rode the 01's until they had 6000 miles on (the white lining didn't improve!!!) when I got a puncture and replaced them with PR4s.

I won't be buying another set of 01's

Given the distances he goes (and speed) I wouldn't be without them (and bar wind deflectors)

I really need to fit my grips (and remove the exhaust baffle) - far too cold for comfort for me @ 6am this morning, worst is I need to leave at 5am tomorrow!!!!! - fking freezing!

I'm on a loan bike until my generators been replaced on my Fireblade, been given a CBF 1000 to use, really comfy & has heated grips but standard exhausts and its really heavy - doesn't handle or go anything like my bike laugh Keeps me on the road though & off of the train.

Removing your exhaust baffle and leaving at 5am won't endear you to the neighbours
