Hopefully can get the zip replaced. It's "only" HG, but it was the last of their proper GTX Pro stuff, £500 jacket, and it's only about 3 years old. Otherwise it's a wallet walloping for some new stuff.
I've used this outfit for repairs on gore-tex stuff in the past - pretty sure they'll be able to sort the zip and any re-taping it would need . . .

Getting used to the gaps on my new bike, I'd say just as quick through traffic on the africa twin as the fireblade now - loving the Africa Twin, 1st service tomorrow..

Nice wheelie on the old kent road from a silver K4 GSXR this morning

Ah love the auto blipper, 1 of fav things coming to a stop and banging it into 1st at highish revs laugh

Have an issue with my instrument screen which I'm hoping Honda will swap under warranty as it has marks underneath the plastic, scratches and what looks like brake fluid - not immediately obvious when you look but when you look close up its there and really annoying on a new bike, should have been spotted when it was PDI'd but wasn't & i didn't spot until on the ride home but on the whole loving it.

For the first time in a years riding I pulled off (with some gusto) only to discover my disc lock was still firmly attached. Very surprised by the ensuing impersonation of a bucking bronco from my little Honda. Thankfully I got my left foot down quickly enough and managed to get the bike standing again before any of the shiny bits had a chance to make contact with the tarmac.

Pretty reasonably priced considering the value of a goretex bike jacket as well.

Lol. I said the same thing today. 3c today and heated grips on 50% and I still ended up with chilly hands.

As nice as the sunny weather was today I'm depressed just thinking about the long, dark, icy, salty, stty commutes that will be along shortly.
Mine are back on now, makes it easier on cars when I drag my hadlebars down the side of them as well laugh

You’ll need a Torx screwdriver to unscrew that!

It was Manoeuvre, Signal Monday this morning! No mirrors involved in the 3 instances during filtering. Zero reaction with a short toot of the horn - nothing. Maybe they didn't even hear the horn either.

Hubby left 10mins before me (in the car), I had to get petrol and I arrived 10mins before him. A car fire caused chaos on the M8 .

Piece on the BBC lunchtime news about bike and scooter theft in London-they attached cameras to some couriers and it’s quite incredible how frequent the attempts are to steal their bikes!

Well, I clearly missed the "Extra Points Today for Killing a Biker" memo.

Double if you're driving a white Audi. Withing the space of a mile I had two of those swap lanes on me whilst filtering with zero warning or indication. Had 2 or 3 other lane-swappers too, and no, I wasn't going mad.

Then, on a two lane stretch of road (as in, two lanes going in my direction), I came up behind a car which I hadn't seen or interacted with before, who proceeded to swerve between the two lanes to stop me overtaking him, and when I finally did, I got the complete death stare. Never seen him or his car before! They're out there, I tell ya!

Interesting - didn't BBC also release an article the same day on how bike and scooter theft is on the decrease?

As for todays commute, pretty boring and no dramas. Got a new screen arriving for the bike today, should ease some of the buffeting.

Within the last two weeks or so I've definitely noticed an increase in no-look lane swapping on the motorway when trying to filter. I've consciously decreased the speed differential and turned spidey-sense up to 11.

Maybe it's the cooler weather, drivers don't expect to see as many bikes in their mirrors? Who knows.

All good today apart from the rolling roadblock who wanted to filter at 'traffic +5mph' when much quicker was possible safely, who whenever he couldn't get through a gap, a gap I might add that a poxy GS could fit through let alone his slim Honda thingy, would rev the nuts off his bike in self entitled indignation to scare cars sideways to make room you could then get an ambulance through, all of this whilst having 4 of us behind him and not once looking in his mirrors to see the delay he was causing ...... hope I don't see him on the way home ....

On the other side of the coin, some great filtering from someone on a Yamaha R(1 or 6 as he flew by that fast) when I moved over for him .... was like watching a rat up a drainpipe, no way me and the Multi were staying with him .....

Well after the carnage of yesterday M4 onto the M25 in the morning and then the M4 itself on the way home, this morning was an easy run in, looks like it might be a bit damp on the way home though.

I have Road 5's on the VFR now and I really, really rate them.
