And today's commuting highlight is...

So today was the first morning I've been properly cold.
Strange thing though. I wore my winter gloves for the first time this year. They're (I think) a couple of years old; I certainly wore them all last winter. They're Richa Cold Killers and they've been pretty good in the past.
However, today, by the time I'd done 15 miles on the motorway, my fingers (particularly my right hand) were numb and tingling. The gloves aren't tight at all, but I pulled the fingers out a bit and loosed the wrist strap in case, but my fingers still kept getting numb & tingly. The gloves were the only difference between what I've been wearing for the past month or so, so I suppose they must be to blame - or is there any other reason?
Otherwise I guess Mr Gerbing is about to become one pair of gloves richer.

You could try a pair of thin running gloves underneath, around a fiver as opposed to new gloves.Strange thing though. I wore my winter gloves for the first time this year. Well you'll know what I'll say having used Gerbings for 2.5 winters Stop messing around and just get some LOLStrange thing though. I wore my winter gloves for the first time this year. BTW Just watch the sizings, it even states it on the Gerbing site. You normally need to go one larger than you might on other gloves.

Much warmer today compared to yesterday, positively balmy outside
Really? The bike was telling me it was 2 degrees. Certainly felt chilly.Dakkon said:

They salted the roads around me this week. That means it is time. Goodnight Monster. See you late spring. Enjoy your Optimate.
Yep, The Thruxton’s alloy cases hate salt. Gave it a good clean last weekend. Time to get the stands out. What make is your dust cover? Most of the ones I see are out door biased. Did a quick calculation used two and half times as much fuel this year as last year. That’s a measure of just what a superb summer we’ve had!Mr Dendrite said:

It's an Oxford Protex Stretch (Indoor). It's very soft and stretchy material with an elasticated hem. They do 4 sizes in black, red or blue. Mine is a Large fitment.

First commute from my current temporary digs into London yesterday morning: what with the poor weather, slight issue with front tyre, and not being familiar with the route it felt like I was riding into bloody Mordor! It didn't help that I got a little lost around Peckham trying to get through to Westminster (coming in from Ashford, Kent). Then on the way home I ended up losing sight of the a20 and ending up on the a2.
A few things from my commute: I thought riding through west London and on the a40/m40 was bad.... but there was some truly terrible riding from both L plate warriors and 'big boy' bikers who were incredibly wobbly/filtering at 2mph/ blocking gaps big enough to get my harley through/ or one the thing that gets on my goat: filtering with hazard lights on! Although nothing could have prepared me for the amount of pedal-powered-people! Holy st thre are hordes of them! Even at 0630 there were hordes of them darting all over the place with little concern for road discpline, lights, or common sense - then the ride back - WOW how there aren't more cyclist fatalities in London I have no idea! Very, very different experience coming in from the east rather than west - its like an entirely different city!
I'll be commuting in from the M20 for the next few months until the divorce is all sorted and I buy new digs along the M2 route, so if anyone seems a blue, fairly dirty, Harley sportster about: Hi!

In fairness he does have a point, I commuted SE London to Slough for a couple of years and it is honestly a whole different experience to my current Reading to Central London commute, there does seem to be a whole different level of mental going SE to West ......
