I couldn't put up with another dark gloomy commute like yesterday evening's homeward trip. Leaves all over the road, thick low cloud/mist, damp mizzle, & rutting season so the bloody deer jump out in front of you from behind the trees. fk that - took the car in today. Just as well, as the mizzle is worse today & has been constant ALL bloody day!!!! I hate the weather at this time of year, let alone proper winter furiousfurious

Rode home Wednesday night with a snotter of a cold and cut up some bloke on a silver 300 vespa in lewisham - I apologised at the time, but if you're on here- sorry, was trying to juggle getting to the lights to buy me time to wipe snot off my glasses!

In less snottier events, after my move south eatst I think I've nailed down the route in to work... the journey home.... not quite - I blame the plethora of roadworks and the jostling for position with 30+ lycra warriors around you at any one time: I find myself doing little 'detours' still which isn't great when my fuel tank is so small!
However the llast two days I've been tucked up in bed feeling sorry for myself! If I feel well enough over the weekend I should really change the primary case oil as it's due changing.

Last night was pretty cold. Temp gauge was down to 3 degrees at one point and it was sleeting and then pissing down. Luckily my goretex kit kept it at bay and the keis jacket did its job. I would not have wanted to be out there with no muffs last night smile

Its now cold, may need to pop the liner into my trousers ..... fairly drama free the last couple of days although visited the olds in Lewisham on Monday night then left there about 10pm for the run back to Reading, horrible mizzly rain, and 2 degrees most the way ...... heated gloves next as cant fit bar muffs as the indicators are in the hand guards grrrrr

Unfortunately for my London commute the car isn't an option, tomorrow for my more local commute, my heated seated four wheeled chariot will bepushed into service ..

It's getting a bit chilly and the running nose inside helmet has started redface

I must say it is far nicer in the last two days with the dry cold. Even though Tuesday was technically warmer it was pissing down, none of my gear is gore tex (although it did keep the water out, but just got very damp, heavy and unpleasant) and I was absolutely freezing. Atm my Rukka lobster gloves are keeping my hands warm but if it does get colder I might get some heated gloves.

Must have been damned cold overnight my disc lock was a touch frozen this morning so had to unlock the front door to get some hot water and thaw it out, I think I will start carrying a lighter again to warm the key next time. Definitely need to find my bar muffs though as even with the heated grips I still lost all feeling in my fingers on the hour to work today.

I think I may stick to the car this winter - the dark & cold are really getting to me in my old age....

I'm definitely going to be selective about when I take the bike.

Anyone seen that guy on a 68 plate BMW GS in BMW racing colors, full crash bars on monstrous spotlight set up.

Was behind him on Tuesday coming out of London filtering traffic. Followed him for about 20 miles down the a4 and onto the M4. He had some kind of strobe fitted to the front, that coupled with a train horn and mild aggression on the horn/plentiful head shaking I was pissing myself laughing down the phone to my wife at what a tool drivers must of thought he was.

The strobe almost looked police like, they deffo would have had a few issues with it

I saw strobe kits at the bikeshow now you mention it, I thought it odd and wondered why you'd want one.

You answered the question in my head

Heated screen on the work van this morning made light work of the thin layer of ice, heated seats on max on the way home too in the legacy.

Sounds like next week will be a shock...spent last week piloting a 100cc Honda “click” around Koh Samui in 36* heat and sun!!

No time to get the heated grips on either, land home Sunday eve - most I can do is get some air in my (slow punctured) rear tyre!!!
