Today felt much warmer than previous 2 or 3 days even though the temp gauge was approx the same, maybe a degree or 2 higher. But roads very greasy, I have to leave the Ducati with anti wheel spin switched on! the red light flickers like crazy showing it cutting in. All that v-twin power overcoming the tyres - you don’t that with an inline 4 wink

Sorry to hear that CFK, I have had a similar week,

I was taken out by an Audi on the A2 Tuesday morning, he decided to move back over on me after indicating an moving to the left lane, giving me a wker sign and clipping my back wheel and sending me down the road at 50mph. Thankfully I only hit the road and have relatively minor injuries compared to you. He then stopped briefly, asked if I was ok and if my camera worked before leaving the scene.
Thankfully I have another more kind and considerate witness who was shocked at what he had just witnessed.
I am sure the bike will be a write off and I am not sure if I want to ride again given the nature of the incident.
So a little bit of faith in the UK justice system has been restored. The driver of the Audi was found guilty today.
Charged with driving without due care and attention he got five points and a £1475 fine.
The video footage from my helmet camera was the decider after my witness failed to show up.

Back from holiday late yesterday evening...

Up earlier than normal to pump up the rear tyre (slow puncture had dropped pressure to 6psi over 2 weeks), spent 10 minutes pumping it back up with the squeakiest, sttiest foot pump only for the fker not to start...

No matter what I did it wouldn’t actually run, cranked constantly but wouldn’t actually catch? When it did (briefly) after giving a little throttle it spluttered/misfired for all of a second before stopping.

Gave up and took the train in.

Going to have a look later but can’t think what’s wrong, only thoughts are the day I left i changed the headlight bulb (via the front fairing access) so thinking I may have dislodged a tilt sensor or something? (I didn’t start it after doing this)

May have to call out SOS recovery again this evening if I can’t work it out :/

What bike is it?

2 weeks without being used and I'd start by making sure the battery has plenty of grunt ... especially on a modern bike when the injectors wont fire unless over a specific voltage.

Fired the GSXRR up after a couple weeks stood this morning as dry roads, if cold and the sun is out... started on the button - good old jap bikes biggrin

Bike is a ‘10 Honda CBF 600 with 54k miles, another of my banger bikes (another bought from salvage so I don’t care too much when stolen/bashed when parked in London).

I’ll gave it a jump from the MRS car later but the batter was going strong and for ages (before I flattened it from trying to start it multiple times.

Will attach to the Mrs’ car for a jump later to see if that helps but definitely seemed more mechanical....other thought (stupidly I didn’t check) was the kill switch - thinking now I may have disturbed it when changing the headlight bulb...

Could be the rectifier or the generator - best to just get them checked before spending money on them, had the same issue with my old fireblade, thought it was the battery so changed that seemed all good til until it just went flat again. Changed the rectifier (as it was the next cheapest part) and charged the battery at the same time, all good for a couple of days then same issue - turned out to be the generator, £300 for a new one inc labour but easy enough to do if you have the spare time.

Got to know the SOS blokes well during that time laugh

Glad they found him guilty, well done for following it through. That must feel good to get some justice?
Now the case has concluded, would you be willing to share the helmet cam footage?

4 degrees and very foggy.

Didn't feel that cold.

Forecast for the journey home looks utterly miserable.

Glad to hear that, too many of these types of drivers just get away with it. Def one where having the camera has worked for you.
Do you agree with the DC&A, points and fine dished out? To me 5 points seems a little light considering a mobile phone while driving offence that can have zero impact on other road users to commit (i.e. stationary in traffic) is an automatic 6 pointer. Just my thoughts.

Agreed, rain from mid-morning, some of it quite heavy for the rest of the day, going to be a soggy one later.

2degrees most of the way. I'm single track for first 3 miles with no grit and icy. Was a test of my control smoothness! Once on the main road was fine.

Got home last night to fix the bike that wouldn’t start in the morning - started on the button (after a bit more cranking than normal and some rev’s admittedly), rode it around the block a few times and all ok.

Started this morning too - guess it just didn’t like being left for a few weeks

Last night was a bit miserable.
My textiles started to leak after about 20 minutes on the motorway so I arrived home with a soggy crotch.

Was nice putting the damp kit on this morning, dash showed 13 degrees, positively tropical.

After 5 years of not using an oversuit, I think I may have to start using one of those £30 waterproof onesies.

Soggy ride home last night where I did not fully zip my jacket pocket, my wallet was very moist when I went to pay for petrol.

Another soggy ride in this morning, although I did remember to do up all the pocket zips smile

I use an Alpinestars El Nino suit, £90 but keeps me 100% dry and when its freezing I pop that on and keeps me warm too even though its only thin.

The rain can do one now! Actually the winter can.

Every ride this week has been in torrential rain and although I'm dry its tedious. Its pouring hard again.

Grrrh. Next week doesnt look any better.

Liberal application(s) of this kind of stuff fixed my leaky crotch
