Barry ( Andrews ) one of the two owners is a former Operations Manager of Focused Events , he’s a truly top guy who everybody who ever meets him loves to bits , very mellow , humorous and accommodating . We became close mates over the few years I knew him and look forward to catching up with him ( and Pete, who I’ve not met but hear good things about ) over there some time . Glad you enjoyed .
Both great guys – couldn’t have asked for a better organised trip. We had some great laughs along the way too. I’ll be back out for another few days with them early next year I think!
Back to the commute, last night was a bit wet wasn’t it! I stopped off to donate blood on the way home so had a chance to dry out halfway though.
Two more commutes to go this year for me.
Bike commuting done for me for this year, have driven in today as off out with wifey tonight so she will get the train into town to meet me, have to say after last nights gusts and torrential rain it was nice being in the car this morning, although was jealous of the bikers pinging through ......
So no more Reading / Paddington runs until January...
Stay safe everyone

Bolton to Ashton. The ride home was literally the wettest I’ve experienced in 12 months on the bike. Awful.
Still preferable to sitting in traffic though.
I was glad that i'd Nikwax'ed my textile suit last week as it didn't leak at all, amazing as I was expecting
Noah's Ark to hove into view....
Last commute of the year for me tomorrow
Sorted out the insurance too, renewal came through at £680 and took a new policy for £220, only issue is they’ve requested an engineers report on the bike https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... a headache for tomorrow I think.

Pleasant ride in this morning, one commute home and that’s me done commuting on the bike for the year.
Will drive in tomorrow as I need to get the car washed.
My gear absolutely hums, ordered some Nikwax wash and reproof stuff so will sort that at the weekend ready to power through another year on two wheels.

Getting much lighter on the roads and only saw two other bikers on my way in today. One was on what looked like an Indian, although I could be totally wrong and it's some jap look-a-like. Still at work tomorrow so riding in then as well, getting surprisingly warm and I'm back in my spring/autumn gloves.

I've been in Spain enduro riding since Thursday. 19 degrees, blue skies, amazing views and trails.
Got back to the UK last night, the commute this morning was cold, wet, dark, dull.
HUFF.

Got the train in this morning for the first time in ages (Christmas Doo).
Public transport is horrible, full of the great unwashed sniffling and sneezing. Just hoping one day on the train doesn't give me a cold over Chrimbo.
Back on the bike tomorrow.
Since I started commuting by bike I have completely stopped getting ill, with the sole exception within the last 18 months when I had to take the underground/train for a week to one of the sites I was working on after which I had a cold.Public transport is horrible, full of the great unwashed sniffling and sneezing.
