Did the full 120 miles in this morning 7-9am - was not really cold at all on my torso. When it gets down to -2 ish I throw my lightweight ski jacket over the top of my kit, makes a massive difference as it completely stops and cold soaking in.

Did see -6c on the dash by Swindon. Lovely views of the frosty fields and the sun rising tho smile
What was the fog on the M4 like ?
Whilst my bike is off the road, I am in the car, fog was fine, just chilly
Yep all good, minimal fog! Had my neck tube on so my visor stayed nice a clear. Pleasant

-5 on the dash this morning, strangely enough my road and the pavements were frosty but really quite grippy! Still, 100 yards further and the roads are gritted, so it's not much of an issue. Not sure I'd want to head out onto country roads though!

Bright sunshine in Harrogate this morning, but it's getting foggy now!

I salute the madness of those of you still riding...my bike has been tucked away for a couple of weeks now. I’ve decided 8c is the minimum for me to ride. If anyone wants a mint set of gerbing xr12 heated gloves in xxl let me know!

my hands got painful to change gear just as I got near work. I think it really was about -4 as my outdoor thermometer said that as well as the car and the bike.

However I had major issues as I couldn't unlock my U-lock - frozen lock echanism. I sprayed st loads of deicer down it which then allowed me to get key inserted. But still wouldn't turn as pins were sticking in their barrels. I had to go to the shed, get extension lead and hot-air gun, plug in and run to the front of the house (where bike is) and heat the lock! All at 7.15am trying to not be late for work.

After getting caught in the thick of it twice on the M40 in the last week, I opted to leave early today and glad I did!

Worse still have been the mornings. No road salt locally so they're like glass. Must need my head examining... but do the same every year! eek

Only retired the bike at the weekend, even so, you lot are nutters.

-6 on the dash and confirmed by the phone this morning. Work car park was an ice rink. 4 wheels until march I think.

So what's everyone's thoughts for tomorrow? If roads are snowy but empty I'll take the car to work, not quite sure what to do if it's snowy but heavy traffic... Take car and sit in endless jams? Or take the bike and be super cautious? Or cycle and stick to the pavement? Journey is around 7 miles from West London to central.

If the snow is settled I’d be on public transport, pavement cycling is no better ... or take the car ... just leave earlier ....

Took the car today as yesterday saw quite a lot of icy patches on smaller streets yesterday morning. Was pleasantly warm but the parking charges still stung a bit.

Will use a mixture of bicycle and tube tomorrow I think...

The old biddy doing 20mph all the way into Wymondham in her Citroën C2. Obviously only speeding up when we approached the village and she saw the 30mph road signs. Fortunately the train was like clockwork and therefore running precisely 10 minutes late like every day rotate

I drove as I had a doctors appointment first thing but the roads around here (Hampshire) are fine.
I did do some car park snow drifting to make up for it.
Rode home from work last year during the beast from the east on snow with snow on the roads (was on my 125). Wont be doing that again.

Rode in today - Met Office app said heavy snow for Brands Hatch & London so left fully prepared for it, literally saw 2 flakes of snow on the M20 and it was clear all the way in.
