Just back to work from County Court after sorting out the accident i had commuting 3 years ago (me filtering, car pulling out).

Thankfully liability was placed 100% on the driver that pulled out on me and I should now be well on the way to having my NCB reinstated and payment of damages over the next few weeks (was TPO). The guy wasn't particularly pleasant outside court afterwards with threats to property "I know where you live" etc, conveniently forgetting his own address was on there....

Sods law on the way back to work from Kingston I'm then rear-ended by a L-plate scooterist in Battersea when I anchor on for a kamikaze OAP pedestrian that decides to run at a gap between traffic....nothing more than a small scuff to my bike....thank fk for having a bike I don't give a st about!
Jeez! Glad all sorted and what a pain with the L plater! Sounds very eventful.

Congratulations on the court result! That sounds like a long grind.

Thanks all - took a lot of hassle last year, the solicitors/insurer didn't deal with it so had a CCJ for 3 months until it was set-aside!

Thankfully all done now and the £1k damages will go very nicely toward my wedding this year (and some debt reduction....)

Nice and easy ride in today, minimal traffic, fresh but sunny. Wish I was out riding today and not in the office…

Leg just about ok from dropping the bike on it, new hand guards fitted and new engine bars fitted and happy to be out and about on the bike again.

Got some held 2-in-1 gloves at the weekend and like them in the cold a lot with heated grips. I'll see what they're like in the wet but happy with them so far. Weird design where there's two chambers to put your hand... a warm section and a vented section. Probably old news to those of you that keep up with thing like this.

Poxy A404 and M4 were a car park this morning, did something happen ? Couldn't find any news reports ....

In better news rode in for the first time in my new Shoei Neotec II that I picked up at the Excel, its soooooooooooo quiet and well sealed, a revelation compared to a few of my other lids, first time I've ever had a flip up lid smile

Nice brisk ride in earlier, got another 1hr or so at work and a cold ride home.
Be glad when I don't have to bring 2 pairs of gloves to work

I normally commute by car as I only live about 6 miles from work and it's not insanely busy, so usually less than half an hour or so. The time saved by the bike is eaten by the time taken to extract it from the garage and get the gear on.
Last night it took about an hour to get home (no idea why) so I decided to take the bike in today.

It was really warm yesterday, for February in Aberdeen, 14 degrees!
This morning it was 2 degrees and frosty when I left the house dressed in Draggin jeans and a leather jacket. Still had a nice ride in,
I bloody love my bike!

(heated vest, seat and grips helped greatly)

First week of commuting by bike (a13 London bound from essex) has been uneventful. Has shaved a good 3/4 of an hour from my usual train commute, and £20 a month in fuel is better that £15 a day on the train ! Dark grey mt125 on Liability plates (for now) if anyone goes that way.

Just had a new rear tyre fitted last weekend. I go outside for lunch & notice a mark on the front tyre. I applied washing-up liquid that then started to bubble up. Looks like a puncture & therefore new front tyre....furious
Such a shame, as the weather is so nice....

Can you not get it plugged?

Bit chilly on the ride in, but my journey home was lush - almost like summer.

To be honest, I'm really not enjoying riding through the road works on the M20 at the moment. Because of the average speed cameras I keep finding myself stuck in the blind spot of foreign lorries who are drifting between lanes 2 & 3. Speeding up is not option and for safety reasons slowing down is not normally an option either.

On safety grounds I think bikes should be allowed another 10-15 MPH through the road works

I had to go that way between October and January, was a nightmare - so you have my absolute sympathies having to do that commute!

I've moved now and do the A2/M2/A2 all the way from Canterbury to central London - it is a much, much nicer commute than the M20/A20 and even makes riding through east-London less of a ball-ache!

On that note - commuting has been fairly uneventful, although I do loath the two lane nature of the M2/A2 as almost every day on the way home the right lane is nose to nose at 50-65mph whilst the left lane is pretty much clear bar a lorry or two per mile (and don't get me started on the 1mph faster lorry over-take crawls) - I will say though, I do find myself in the left lane 'making progress' and then doing a bit of fairly nippy filtering simply to get past the simpletons sitting in the right lane unnececssarily!
Generally though, it has been all fairly nice and pleasant after all the stty wet weather back in December/January!

My commutes have been totally uneventful.

That said, it’s one mile from my house to the farm... and if I meet any traffic at all, it’s just my neighbor in his Gator, out feeding his sheep.

I understand that front tyre punctures are reason enough to have replacement as its not worth the risk... I should be able to pump it up enough to ride slowly to local dealer, but no availability until at least Monday. Oh well, at least it survived the recent amazing weather. When its back on the road, I shall be doing more miles in order to promote global warming & more warm winters!!
