Just had a new rear tyre fitted last weekend. I go outside for lunch & notice a mark on the front tyre. I applied washing-up liquid that then started to bubble up. Looks like a puncture & therefore new front tyre....furious
Such a shame, as the weather is so nice....
Can you not get it plugged?
front?
I understand that front tyre punctures are reason enough to have replacement as its not worth the risk... I should be able to pump it up enough to ride slowly to local dealer, but no availability until at least Monday. Oh well, at least it survived the recent amazing weather. When its back on the road, I shall be doing more miles in order to promote global warming & more warm winters!!
Not sure of the difference in 'risk' between having a front or rear tyre plugged? If it's done correctly, and is not towards the edge of the main tread, I don't see the need to worry?

A 3 wheeled scooterist told me I was a maniac this morning from my filtering. I informed him that as he was on a 3 wheel scooter his opinion was invalid.

He was really angry about the whole affair (me coming past him as he was filtering slowly). Some peoples blood pressure must be sky high. Lots of head shaking and waving his arms about in a passive aggressive manner. It was such an English exchange.

I read somewhere that Z rated tyres are not to be repaired, according to British Standards(???)

perhaps he was listening to a bit of rave at the time and just got carried away?

Na it was accompanied with lots of exuberant huffing and general displeasure towards my riding style.

I like to think he cheered up when he got to work and didn't let my riding style ruin his day.

Poxy A404 and M4 were a car park this morning, did something happen ? Couldn't find any news reports ....

In better news rode in for the first time in my new Shoei Neotec II that I picked up at the Excel, its soooooooooooo quiet and well sealed, a revelation compared to a few of my other lids, first time I've ever had a flip up lid smile
I do those roads. Which route/times do you do?
Caversham to A4 then to A404 then M4 J89 to Shepherds Bush and then over to the A40 for Paddington smile

Usually Mon - Weds, usually at the A404/M4 junction c8am

Bit dark and damp this morning.

Traction control told me off as I was coming round a bend and onto the dual carriage way.

I used to look at people and think how uncool people look with flip up lids, i have had one for the last year now and wish i had got one sooner for commuter. Absolute bliss in the city! Would never go back

Mates were jealous when we went touring as well and they have all added one to their collection. Maybe as i fast approach 30 this is me getting old.

Highlight for me was being back on the bike after a week's holiday. Lowlight was that I'm not on holiday any more!

Had to rap on the side of a van who was weaving while I was filtering, I could clearly see he was staring down at his phone.

And bloody Commercial Street is *still* closed at Aldgate. That must be 3 or 4 weeks now, originally it was supposed to be closed for a few days.

After yesterday's commute home, my kit was still wet this morning and with more weather of the same, I took the car and then regretted it, as it was actually dry today

Dirty stinking cold; cannot face the snotty-nose ride in at 0430 every morning - something not quite magical about snot being blown around in your lid and all over your glasses..... so I'm sucking it up and doing the train in until I feel more human. Guess I'll get a snooze on the train up, or at least be able to get some reading in for a change

thumbup to the lorry driver who was stuck in traffic on a roundabout, I was loitering a safe distance behind in case he moved forward. He beeped his horn and wound the window down to gesture with his hand that he'd seen me and he would let me through. Slightly scary then passing through on the inside of a turning lorry (albeit a stationary one) but well done to the driver for his observation and manners smile

Nice and sunny this morning. Still very low temps though.
Roads were surprisingly quiet for this morning.

Rest of the week looks a bit wet, may have to pack the bin bag just incase.

M4 was pants again, looked like some commotion by the Uxbridge exit eastbound, 4 police vehicles and an ambulance plus what looked like an X5 ... hope whoever was taken ill (as no damage to the car from what I could see) was ok ...

Last night I got caught out in some biblical heavy rain and wind.

This morning just some heavy cross winds on the motorway.

Interesting hearing a car behind me locking up as I slowed down at a junction....

Have started going A2, Dartford tunnell, A13 to get into work - 10 miles longer but less stopping & more room, less stressful than navigating my afica twin throuh & taking out the odd mirror with my bark busters laugh

Saw a bike with L plates on almost face plant the back of a tipper approaching the limehouse link, went up on the font wheel but then saved it clap

Nice & dry this morning, but looks like the forecast is changing on an hourly basis. I hope I don't get wet on way home....

Slightly. Considering I'd been in front of this car for a few miles too!
